She does seem like a troubled person with a history of making a lot of stuff up, and an abusive childhood which could be behind some of her problems.
But, I do find the interviews and debates around her very interesting because she kind of does have a point - race is less biologically distinct and defined than sex. That's a scientific fact - race is much more blended, varied, and complex than sex. When you think about how bizarre and unacceptable it seems to most people to say you identify as a different race, it's really strange that we increasingly don't react that way about gender.
So I think she does cast a very interesting light on the trans debate. If you are born white and can't genetically become black and therefore can't be black, then arguably the same does apply to gender. It's inevitable that that will come up as a response to what she's saying, among other responses.
