No they were taken from him because he committed a crime.

Hygellig · 27/03/2017 17:49

The dad was being unreasonable; the flowers are for everyone to look at. He could easily have bought some flowers.

picklemepopcorn · 27/03/2017 17:52

Floof, they wouldn't have gone to waste if he had stopped his children picking them, and DCs and DF need to know they can't profit from stealing.

Alexthekid · 27/03/2017 17:54

I saw this story in the Daily Mail Blush

There was a great daily mail esq sad face photo of the children!

A1Sharon · 27/03/2017 17:54

Just watched to the very end of the clip as only saw the first bit earlier (turned it off due to rage!), and he is dreadful!
That police woman was a saint, he was so rude. All that "I pay your wages" and "Go and catch some real criminals".Shock
Also was it his wife that was saying leave it you're upsetting the girls?

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 27/03/2017 17:55

Havent seen the video

But dad shouldn't have let the children pick the daffs

And he certainly shouldn't be filming the police officer

Ellybellyboo · 27/03/2017 17:55

The Dad.

Round here all our grass verges are covered in daffodils.

Community groups have bought and planted hundreds of bulbs.

They look absolutely beautiful and are not for tight-wads to help themselves to.

Underthemoonlight · 27/03/2017 17:56

I do wonder if this coward would have had the same reaction had this police officer been male, he was extremely patronising towards her

Dad is a bellend as is anyone who uses the phrase I pay your wages.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 27/03/2017 17:56

Dad. He's an entitled twit.

I was in a park yesterday and saw a woman with two kids encouraging them to pick the flowers, couldn't believe she actually thought it was ok.

MrsJayy · 27/03/2017 17:57

What an arsehole his poor kids they were mortified because of his arseholery

ShatnersBassoon · 27/03/2017 17:58

I didn't actually watch the video, but I think I will now, just to laugh at the twat.

MrsJayy · 27/03/2017 17:58

Police officer also pays her own wages Grin

PossumInAPearTree · 27/03/2017 17:59

Good for that police officer.

The dad is a twat. If she hadn't taken the flowers off them what's not to say they'd just keep, doing it every time they wanted some flowers, thinking that even if they're caught they get to keep them.

Trifleorbust · 27/03/2017 18:00

£1

BoneyBackJefferson · 27/03/2017 18:00

A1Sharon
Just realised I'm very angry on here today, I must go out for a walk, grin.

No picking the flowers though Grin

Dad is 100% in the wrong.

user1483387154 · 27/03/2017 18:00

The Father is completely unreasonable.

Peonyfan · 27/03/2017 18:02

I am with the police too, he is probably the type who parks in disabled bays for 'five minutes'.

Quite right not to have let the children keep them too, someone needs to teach them right from wrong as obviously the parent isn't.

Hulababy · 27/03/2017 18:04

Dad was definitely in the wrong.

If the policewoman had seen it and allowed the children to keep them, then she would have taught them it was okay to take things that don't belong to you. So it doesn't matter that they were already picked - they weren't their flowers to pick.

We have a few areas round our area planted with daffodils and it looks lovely at this time of the year. If someone went picking them we wouldn't be impressed. They are for everyone to enjoy when out and about.

Trifleorbust · 27/03/2017 18:04

Not only was he unreasonable, his tone was bullying and quite aggressive. I wonder whether he would have taken quite the same tone with a 6 foot male officer Confused

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/03/2017 18:05

Dad should put his hand in his pocket, cheap skate.
Next year grow your own !😡

WorraLiberty · 27/03/2017 18:05

I'm surprised you have to ask, OP.

The dad is obviously in the wrong

And a tight fucker to boot.

LuxCoDespondent · 27/03/2017 18:06

David Taylor has made himself look like a complete twat, both for allowing the flowers to be picked and for filming/publicising the police officer's intervention. Of course the officer took the flowers, police don't tend to allow people to keep hold of the proceeds of their crime! The police showed sense by sending the flowers to a nearby care home, so well done to them for that too.

The police come off very well out of this, I suppose with David Taylor the phrase "give someone just enough rope to hang themselves" springs to mind! (Figure of speech, not literally.)

LimitedSedition · 27/03/2017 18:07

I live in that area, and let me tell you that attitude is endemic, unfortunately.

SnugglyBedSocks · 27/03/2017 18:08

The Dad comes across as a complete wally. I would be so embarrassed if I was related to him.
