My eyes are bleeding. If you don't complain, I volunteer to complain on your behalf!

AnneElliott · 26/03/2017 20:04

That's terrible! My DS has just had a report though with an incorrect use of an apostrophe and an incorrect spelling ...... Where the teacher was indicating that DS needed to take care with grammar and spellingsGrin

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 26/03/2017 20:04

It's the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit,

This is a brilliant phrase.

Jaxhog · 26/03/2017 20:04

Awful. Correct it in a large red pen and send it back.

nonameinspiration · 26/03/2017 20:06

Holy fuck

SauvignonBlanche · 26/03/2017 20:06

My eyes! Shock

OlennasWimple · 26/03/2017 20:07

Aaarrgghh! That is truly terrible!!

Naicehamshop · 26/03/2017 20:07

Oh my God. Sad
You do have to complain.

Latium123 · 26/03/2017 20:11

Oh my. YANBU. You must complain. That is awful.

bigmack · 26/03/2017 20:12

I'm loving the competitive indignation on this thread.
'That made me feel physically sick!'

bibbetybobbetybooo · 26/03/2017 20:12

Argh! My inner twitchy grammar pendant is raging. Complain. That's dreadful - could (very likely) be a TA or work-placement student who has put out that drivel and needs correcting. Teacher would need a more serious approach...

UptheChimne · 26/03/2017 20:13

Crikey, I'd be in there so loud & fast the headteacher wouldn't know what had hit her.

bibbetybobbetybooo · 26/03/2017 20:13

Pendant??!?! Ha ha! Stupid autocorrect!
PEDANT!!!

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/03/2017 20:13

I don't think it is competitive.

It's mass horror.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 26/03/2017 20:13

Wow. You have to mention it. It's not even 'just' the yours; that final paragraph is terrible. Kids need to learn how to punctuate!

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/03/2017 20:14

I'm not even sure you need to be a grammar pendant to spot those errors...;)

EweAreHere · 26/03/2017 20:18

I suspect there will be a long line of complaining mums tomorrow morning...

Wow. Just, wow.

eternalopt · 26/03/2017 20:19

Definitely. I'd be sending it back with red pen all over it and the words "see me"

RebelRogue · 26/03/2017 20:19

Bibbety I'm a TA and I know the difference between your and you're. In my case it's very likely to be the teacher that made a mistake like not me,thank you very much. Oh, and I also spotted and pointed out mistakes when I was a parent helper too.

Coughandsplutter · 26/03/2017 20:21

Shocking

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 26/03/2017 20:23

Please do complain. When my DD was in yr5 I saw her teacher had crossed through her (correct) spelling of 'repeatedly' and made her write 'repeatidly' three times (just to make sure she never got it right!). She'd also marked a maths test marking three correct answers as incorrect followed by her approximation of the correct answer. I went straight to the HT who held his head in his hands and apologised. I'm glad I complained because it transpired that the class TA was constantly having to jump in to correct her before she taught the class the wrong thing (mainly in maths). Finally something was done about it so I was glad I'd brought it to the Head's attention.

NewPuppyMum · 26/03/2017 20:24

''Tis has reminded me of when my child was year four and had a spelling homework task. His correct spelling was crossed out and the teacher had written what she thought was the right spelling. I couldn't let that go.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/03/2017 20:26

At least you're Grin school helped you achieved the impossible, OP.

An unanimous YANBU.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 26/03/2017 20:27

That's dreadful - could (very likely) be a TA or work-placement student who has put out that drivel and needs correcting.
As previous posters have pointed out to another poster who made a similar comment, why do you think a TA is most likely to have made such a basic mistake? Many of the TAs I know are more intelligent and knowledgeable than the teachers they work with, particularly in relation to spelling and grammar.

My OCD just kicked in Confused
