I would complain. I'm a TA and no way would I accept that being sent home.

Having said that, we have a teacher who believes 'maths' requires an apostrophe. Hmm

Absolutely disgusting! You can't let it go. It will become a treasured and remembered card in future years, as it will be the one that has a story and you will laugh about it.

Surely it's the bits the child has written in and the picture that parents will cherish not the template (even if it was perfect).

Shocking! Could it have been a student or something?! Truly terrible!

Oh My Goodness!

That is awful, I'd have to say something

DD2 once had some spelling homework, one of the words was Parliament, and it came back marked wrong by the teacher, she insisted it was Parliment

She hated DD2 and me after I complained

Poo

but no teacher doesn't know how to spell 'you're' or form sentences

Sadly untrue. I am a secondary English teacher and work with a colleague who can neither spell nor punctuate including 'your' and 'you're' and one who the students call 'Little Miss I Done We Was'

The difference with a TA doing it, is that they don't have to have done a degree, or even A levels.

If someone is really ignorant of English grammar that they print that out for children to complete, I would hope that they had never got as far as doing a degree, let alone being a teacher.

However - I know some very intelligent people with Science PhDs who would make the same mistake.

As a side note - and missing the point entirely- do we even say 'thankful(l) in the UK?

Would die a lot inside and the gird my stiff upper lip to complain.

Poor apostrophe.

Math's would be debatable because it is a contraction of mathematics so "correct" apostrophe usage but possibly a little pedantic for a contraction that is used more frequently than the full name.

Appalling
I would be speaking to the school ASAP.

I'm just here to join the head shaking. Inexcusable.
Also, they've spelled 'thankful' with double 'l' Confused

I will keep it & treasure it, and yes we are Grin.
Hopefully the Grin will mean dc remembers the 'funny wrong spelling'
They have secondary kids in occasionally to help but DC can't remember if that happened on any day recently no offence to anyone in secondary school btw

Random, I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that this person can't use apostrophes, in general. Their SPAG is at about a year 2 level.

Why on earth would TAs be more knowledgeable and intelligent than teachers? I mean it may, on occasion, be the case but generally it's highly unlikely to be a typical scenario. If they are so knowledgable, why are they earning double the pay and doing the main job. Certainly none of the TAs I know fall into the 'superior skills' to the teacher camp.
