To find the reaction to this "hot" weather ridiculous?

It's 13 degrees!!!! Someone on my snapchat is having a bbq.

I went food shopping yesterday and so many people were buying bbq food, drinks, ice etc.

It's lovely clear skies ... but it's not hot! Surprised I've not yet seen men walking around without their tops on yet.

I've thoroughly enjoyed it being milder this weekend but flip-flops and bikini tops - really?! I like to enjoy each season for it's own sake (as much as you can with the unpredictable British weather) so will be relishing Spring for a month or 2 before breaking out the shorts and BBQ.

I get the need to take advantage when it's nice but it feels too much like rushing another year away to me - people will be talking about sodding Xmas next!

Taps aff here, just outside Edinburgh. I even had my legs out, without opaque tights. It was lovely and our garden is a wee sun trap.

derxa · 26/03/2017 21:11

Are we mainly Scottish on here? Love the difference in weather across the week. On Tuesday I was carrying a bag of feed to the ewe lambs in the driving snow.

PickAChew · 26/03/2017 21:15

Beautiful but not hot is perfect outdoor weather.

No shed clothes here, mind. Just a much lighter coat and a pleasant amble around a country park.

PickAChew · 26/03/2017 21:17

And yes, not Scottish but did the school run in the snow on Tuesday!

Twinchaos1 · 26/03/2017 21:22

It was lovely in the north of England, kids were very pleased to have a picnic at lunch time. It was pretty hot in our sheltered garden.
It is all about what you are used to tho, when we lived abroad we would have been firmly wrapped up inside with these temps.

ReginaGeorgeinSheepsClothing · 26/03/2017 21:28

West Coast best coast here @Derexa! Friday scraping ice from car and friends snowed in- today BBq in the sun!

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 26/03/2017 21:31

20.5°C here today in the garden. Was lovely and we could easily have had a BBQ

Chippednailvarnishing · 26/03/2017 21:31

If you see a small boy and his Dickhead Dad driving around in a convertible with the roof down freezing, they're mine Grin.

This was the commute earlier in the week..

My daughter's in-laws have bbqs at Christmas, and have been known to have one in the snow

museumum · 26/03/2017 21:40

Jeans and tshirt weather here. Probably warm enough in shelter to eat out at lunchtime though It would have got too cold by dinnertime.

motherinferior · 26/03/2017 21:46

It was a bit less cold than it has been, and it was nice and sunny. From time to time it was reasonably warm. Mind you I realised we inadvertently had the heating on, which was probably why. I turned it off and went to find socks and a cardie.

What on earth do you lot do when it genuinely is hot?

apostropheuse · 26/03/2017 21:46

Taps aff near Glasgow today. 23 degrees in my suntrap garden. Faces like well skelped arses.

Was snowing fairly heavily in the morning the other day and by evening it was gorgeous.

Who knows what tomorrow wull bring!

derxa · 26/03/2017 22:04

Faces like well skelped arses Grin We're not good in the sun.

Onlyaplasticbagdear · 26/03/2017 22:09

This is a bit off topic but why do people who don't like hot weather all get pegged as miseryguts? The whole world and his wife openly moan 85% of the year that's it's too cold, rainy, grey etc. I actually prefer it like that. So I am content the vast majority of the time in the UK and yet come summer I get pegged as a misery!!

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 26/03/2017 22:12

I can only speak for myself but I mostly cry and complain. I don't like actually hot weather. Today is perfect for me.

derxa · 26/03/2017 22:12

only I agree I love all types of weather.

Imstickingwiththisone · 26/03/2017 22:31

only it's such a rarity that i think its OTT to moan about it. Looking at the forecast we're back to cloud and rain on Tuesday so don't fret Grin

Onlyaplasticbagdear · 26/03/2017 22:35

Oh I don't mind the weather as it was today, I was more referring to 30c plus days in August, of which there seemed to be quite a few last year.

Figureof80 · 27/03/2017 19:24

Hallo ShakeofFara, another gorgeous Argyll day 23degs in the coast facing vertical bog which masquerades as my garden.
