Breaking on the Huff and Beeb

They'll be wanting to keep it quiet until family and colleagues are informed. That's serious news that could have an effect on officers out dealing with this incident.

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 17:09

Penfold I hope your loved ones are ok. Flowers

DearMrDilkington · 22/03/2017 17:09

A primary school local to us has about 50 children visiting parliament, who are subject to the lock down. The school has tweeted to say all in good spirits and they are singing songs.

That's heartbreaking, they must be so scared and their poor parents must be in bits. Sad

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 22/03/2017 17:09

I'm in shock, I walk across that bridge every few months when I take dc for appointment at Tommy's. We are due there just after Easter.

Really sorry for the families of those who passed away and the injured. It's a frightening world we're living in nowadays.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 17:11

Wando1986

Nothing has been confirmed yet. Not sure it's right to speculate on deaths.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 17:11

altered Yes, it would be there's a chance he's still alive if he wasn't in uniform.

londonmum92 · 22/03/2017 17:12

Was it just a random attack then?. Terrorist attacks are usually planned and the police ate on to them quickly aren't they.

Wando1986 · 22/03/2017 17:13

Piglet, it showed that was the officer earlier. That injured person is now deceased and covered by a blanket. Sadly not rocket science.

Penfold007 · 22/03/2017 17:14

PortiaCastle fine but busy, thank you Flowers

WatchMeSoar · 22/03/2017 17:15

Westminster tube station is closed according to the BBC.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 17:15

Terrorist attacks are usually planned and the police ate on to them quickly aren't they.

They did react quickly.

Theimpossiblegirl · 22/03/2017 17:15

The children visiting the Houses of Parliament are from a primary school local to me in Somerset. They must be so scared and their parents must be frantic!

Flappin Sorry, I must be being dense. I still don't understand.

PausingFlatly · 22/03/2017 17:25

If the children haven't been told details, we can hope they're more bored at being stuck than scared. It does sound like the grown-ups are playing it well.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 17:28

Altered

Two injured people on the ground, one was a police officer and the other the suspect supposedly.

One man with normal clothing was put into the back of the ambulance alive, the other was covered with a blanket. I asked if it was a plain clothed officer as he would be in normal clothing.

Tobias Ellwood, my hero.

Guadalupe · 22/03/2017 17:29

DD is on a school trip nearby, she texted to say they weren't allowed to leave the building and they'd just walked over the bridge 20 mins before. Hideous. So sad for the families of those affected.

PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 17:30

Police officer confirmed dead

The thin blue line got thinner Sad

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 17:33

Oh the poor officer my thoughts go to his/her family

alteredimages · 22/03/2017 17:37

Thanks Flappin.

So sad for the policeman and his family and so grateful for the UK's fantastic emergency services. Flowers

Butterymuffin · 22/03/2017 17:39

RIP for the officer killed doing their job and protecting others Flowers

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 22/03/2017 17:39

Any more news on incident? Anything on the suspect/s?

alteredimages · 22/03/2017 17:43

Independent live updates says Theresa May was 40 yards away when police officer stabbed. That was a close shave.

UnbornMortificado · 22/03/2017 17:43

That poor person and their poor family. RIP.

PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 17:43

She's probably in a state of shock!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 17:44

One of the most moving images .... Conservative MP Tobias Elwood covered in blood, giving CPR to the wounded police officer.

For anyone who doesn't know, Tobias Elwood lost his brother in the Bali terrorist attacks in 2001.

This was on another thread.

Greatest respect goes to Tobias Elwood MP also.
