Just read BBC. Muslim council of Britain has released a statement condemning the attack. I do hope this act of hate doesn't stir up more race hatred here, this issue is not Islam its extremism. We can condemn that in all its guises.

BillSykes, there are 2 groups of school children, the French children on the bridge, about whom we know very little, and a group of primary children who happened to be visiting the houses of parliament at the time, all safe and well.

No official sources have said anything about it being Islamic terrorism yet though so don't jump to any conclusions @Helenluvsrob & others...

Some reports say the attacker was Asian, some say there were 2 attackers; one white and one black. Nothing mentioned in official statements or on news outlets about religion (yet), because how could anyone know at this stage.

Targeting parliament specifically could mean a totally different motive behind it; could be connected to Brexit, or quite frankly absolutely anything else. There are many people who have anger issues towards parliament for whatever reason.

Simply because it has been categorised as a 'terror incident' doesn't mean the attacker is/was claiming to be Muslim. Remember the IRA carried out terror attacks too and that's nothing to do with Islam. Too many people have been conditioned to believe 'terror' automatically means 'radical Islam'.

Those poor French teenagers I think 2 are critical.

My dd was very badly injured in France a few years ago with her school friends and the French authorities and emergency services were awesome.

It's times like this we need our neighbours ans friends in Europe.

Why the fuck are we leaving? I know not the time or place but still!!

By the way @Helenluvsrob I'm not criticising your post in any way at all and I agree with you that I hope it doesn't incite any further racial/religious hate crimes. Just simply pointing out that I haven't seen it reported anywhere so far that it has been claimed by any radical Islamic extremist

Butterfly even if these attackers call themselves Muslims this is nothing to go with Islam and nothing to go with Muslim religion.

The IRA terrorists were not Catholics and the UDA were not protestsnts.

@Doyouwantabrew I completely agree with you. Perhaps I worded it clumsily; of course I know anyone who is capable of perpetrating such heinous acts is not a actually religious. There are no religions which encourage or tolerate such behaviour. These vile excuses for human beings who carry out acts of terror and violence in the name of a religion are sick and misguided.

If it is abu izzadeen, then he's black not Asian, but once again the gutter press (Mail etc) have already all jumped on the "apparently he looked Asian" within their headlines.

I know it's more comfortable for religious people to argue that these people are not religious but they think they are and their internal logic is consistent with extremist belief. Some religious people are vile just like some non religious people.

Butterfly You're correct of course, it's not yet been confirmed as Islamic terrorism; more likely to be those angry C of E's or the notoriously intorant Hindus.
