It was an impulse buy that needs used up.

Go!

Plain steamed with loads of hollandaise or mayo. Can't wait for asparagus season.

HermioneJeanGranger · 20/03/2017 17:56

Wrapped in bacon with hollandaise sauce and a poached egg.

EyeoftheStorm · 20/03/2017 17:57

Roast with oil and parmesan

ohfourfoxache · 20/03/2017 17:58

Griddle pan with sour cream and smoked salmon and lemon

BlurryFace · 20/03/2017 17:59

Lightly fried in butter.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 20/03/2017 18:00

I saute with butter and a bit of olive oil, then toss in parmesan.

kingscrossnoodle · 20/03/2017 18:00

Griddle pan very lightly so it's still crunchy

Florrick · 20/03/2017 18:00

Asparagus. How middle class of you. Are they from Waitrose?

Expect to get flamed....along with your asparagus.

akwan · 20/03/2017 18:01

Roasted until crispy in olive oil and salt - served with a squeeze of lemon

Oblomov17 · 20/03/2017 18:05

Yum!

Funnyface1 · 20/03/2017 18:08

Wrapped in bacon, roasted in the oven.

TuddlesAndSisses · 20/03/2017 18:13

Mmmm!! Hot griddle pan, charred lines on the outside but still crunchy. Nothing worse than soggy flaccid over-boiled asparagus. Amazing wrapped in pancetta served with a poached egg and some hollandaise

AdaColeman · 20/03/2017 18:20

Steamed, then served with a couple of fried (in butter) quail's eggs.

Or

Served instead of toast with a very soft boiled egg.

ememem84 · 20/03/2017 18:22

Wrap in ham or bacon cover with grated cheese. Grill.

Thewoodenspoon · 20/03/2017 18:27

Roasted in olive oil with garlic, new potatoes and halloumi.... yum yum..

MelanieCheeks · 20/03/2017 18:29

Steamed - you can approximate in a microwave. And then dipped into soft boiled egg.

Anonymous1112 · 20/03/2017 18:29

Is asparagus considered posh? I'm as common as owt and have it loads when it's in season. Roasted with oil and pepper for me

calamaribanari · 20/03/2017 18:29

Thank you! I'll check to see what else we've got in the cupboards before committing to one of these suggestions.

Roughly how long should I be roasting / sautéing / steaming / griddling?

MissAdaSmith · 20/03/2017 18:30

slightly simmered or steamed. and then drowned in butter with some parmesan on top. yummy

CointreauVersial · 20/03/2017 18:32

Steam, then drench in melted butter.

Or dip into a runny boiled egg. Mmmm....

I'm from the Vale of Evesham, so used to eat it by the ton when it was in season. GPs had a huge asparagus bed in their garden.

shirleycartersaidso · 20/03/2017 18:33

Griddled with olive oil. If it's from Peru though it won't taste of much, sorry!

Ferrisday · 20/03/2017 18:33

Wrapped in prosciutto
Pan fried on olive oil

BIWI · 20/03/2017 18:34

Asparagus is middle class? What a bloody stupid statement to make.

It's more expensive than cabbage, that's true, but it's on sale in every supermarket.

Batteriesallgone · 20/03/2017 18:35

Either flash fry very quickly with olive oil and drenched in lemon

Or

Roasted with loads of salt

MrsSparkles · 20/03/2017 18:35

Cut the woody ends off. Then steam for 4 ish mins. It still needs to be firm!
