It was an impulse buy that needs used up.

Go!

Dipped in a runny boiled egg
In risotto with crispy bacon
in a creamy white sauce with pasta
Cream of asparagus soup

Twoevils · 20/03/2017 18:39

BBQ'd in olive oil and fresh ground salt and pepper. Heavenly (if not exactly the right season now)

diodati · 20/03/2017 18:39

Steamed and eaten dipped in mayonnaise.

AYankinSpanx · 20/03/2017 18:44

Asparagus. How middle class of you. Are they from Waitrose?

Expect to get flamed....along with your asparagus

Confused

Lightly sautéed in butter and splash of olive oil, with scrambled eggs. We keep chickens and grow it, so always love asparagus season!

Scholes34 · 20/03/2017 18:44

Has to be locally grown and eaten until you're totally fed up with it . . until the next season comes round. Same with strawberries.

maras2 · 20/03/2017 18:44

1000,100 degrees Celsius on a bonfire.
It's rank. Smile

Scholes34 · 20/03/2017 18:49

Makes your wee smell!

Expatosaurus · 20/03/2017 18:50

Risotto

AdaColeman · 20/03/2017 18:50

Nigel does a nice asparagus lasagne, makes a good lunch dish.

liz70 · 20/03/2017 18:52

Ooh, I luffs sparrowgrass, me. Even if it does make your wee smell funny. Grin

PickAChew · 20/03/2017 18:55

Boiled in salted water for all of 2-3 minutes!

Delicious dipped into a soft boiled egg.

diddl · 20/03/2017 19:07

"Expect to get flamed....along with your asparagus."

What an odd thing to say!

mermaidsandunicorns · 20/03/2017 19:41

I eat asparagus and I'm not middle class

Hope you enjoy op xx

It's nice with streaky bacon and goats cheese (available from all good supermarkets)

user1489434024 · 20/03/2017 19:52

Asparagus and pea soup. With home made garlic and parsley butter bread

PeachHalves · 20/03/2017 19:59

Even Aldi sell it so definitely not posh.

Delia Smith vegetarian pasta and asparagus baked dish is yum.

PoppyFleur · 20/03/2017 20:00

Roasted for 12 minutes with chorizo, a little olive oil and sea salt, serve with cod or other white fish.

Ginmakesitallok · 20/03/2017 20:01

Roasted with olive oil and plenty of salt.

Destinysdaughter · 20/03/2017 20:02

This is yum! Ill often add ham or cooked bacon chopped up to it.

Destinysdaughter · 20/03/2017 20:06

Or this, I add asparagus at the end, cook for approx ten mins in the oven. Gorgeous!

calamaribanari · 20/03/2017 20:07

Success! I griddled it with some butter, salt & pepper. Super delicious.

And it was actually from Peru.

Via Lidl.

I know you've eaten it and I'm late to the party but I have a recipe for Asparagus Risotto, one of my favourites Smile

sillypussy · 20/03/2017 20:47

Lightly sauteed in butter then scraped off the plate into the bin as it's the most disgusting food ever! As bad as macaroni cheese, and that is vomit inducing!!!

deste · 20/03/2017 20:51

Hot oven, pour over a little olive oil with some sea salt and into the oven for 5-10 minutes. Delicious.

Acornantics · 20/03/2017 20:52

On a hot griddle pan with butter, just til hot but no more, black pepper, squeeze if lemon juice. Perfection!

Tulipblank · 20/03/2017 20:55
