BBQ'd in olive oil and fresh ground salt and pepper. Heavenly (if not exactly the right season now)

Steamed and eaten dipped in mayonnaise.

Lightly sautéed in butter and splash of olive oil, with scrambled eggs. We keep chickens and grow it, so always love asparagus season!

Has to be locally grown and eaten until you're totally fed up with it . . until the next season comes round. Same with strawberries.

Nigel does a nice asparagus lasagne, makes a good lunch dish.

Ooh, I luffs sparrowgrass, me. Even if it does make your wee smell funny.

Boiled in salted water for all of 2-3 minutes!

Delicious dipped into a soft boiled egg.

I know you've eaten it and I'm late to the party but I have a recipe for Asparagus Risotto, one of my favourites

Lightly sauteed in butter then scraped off the plate into the bin as it's the most disgusting food ever! As bad as macaroni cheese, and that is vomit inducing!!!

Hot oven, pour over a little olive oil with some sea salt and into the oven for 5-10 minutes. Delicious.

On a hot griddle pan with butter, just til hot but no more, black pepper, squeeze if lemon juice. Perfection!
