I was surprised to read that 90% of adults eat pizza at least once a week. AIBU

Pizza = toasted sandwich, cheese and tomato and any extras. Pretty normal, all the same ingredients just done in the oven.

SouthernComforts · 12/03/2017 22:57

I'm in that 90%.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/03/2017 22:58

I recently heard that about 70% of people who have a packed lunch nearly always have the same thing, which I thought was weird and certainly not true for me, DP or most of my work colleagues.

I love pizza and probably have it once or twice a month because I eat a lot of other things too.

ButtercupChain · 12/03/2017 22:59

I don't. Once a month tops.

BrutusMcDogface · 12/03/2017 22:59

I have coeliac disease too, and have tried all the ready made gf ones you can get (I think?!)

My current favourites are the whole earth one (I think that's it) and the Sainsbury's margarita.

Attempted homemade: yuk.

One of my kids probably eats pizza twice a week! Once a week at school and probably most weeks at home for dinner (not the same day, mind!) He loves it. Doesn't love much else, so meh.

brasty · 12/03/2017 23:00

My DP takes the same sandwich to work every day, and has for years.

I make it for DS when he comes home starving from swimming once a week. It's healthy enough, filling and quick, using freezer tomato sauce.

TimeforANewTwatName · 12/03/2017 23:03

Friday night pizza and film night here.

Home made or shop bought, very occasionally a take away.

elephantoverthehill · 12/03/2017 23:03

Brutus Sainsbury's GF pizzas are the best. I wish they just sold the bases as I always end up putting loads of more stuff on top.

OvO · 12/03/2017 23:04

One a month here.

Though we're probably an odd household as we only have pasta once a month too and everyone else seems to eat that a lot!

GallivantingWildebeest · 12/03/2017 23:05

Friday night treat here, with dough balls. And a film. Yum!

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 12/03/2017 23:05

We have it most weeks, usually for lunch on a weekend. Nutritionally its not so far away to a generous helping of cheese, ham and pickle sandwiches. Within the balance of what we eat over the week, it's fine. We all like it too.

BertieBotts · 12/03/2017 23:06

I don't because I am allergic to cheese and so we never did when I was growing up either.

DH and DS do. It's just so bloody easy and cheap Blush

AYankinSpanx · 12/03/2017 23:06

We have pizza once a week. The kids help to make the dough, one makes the passata, and they help with chopping their favourite toppings. The DC really look forward to it, and it's a nice, easy thing to do together.

I never used to like pizza until I learned to make my own. I still really dislike takeaway pizza, although I love supermarket garlic bread!

ComtesseDeSpair · 12/03/2017 23:07

I'm surprised, but only because I don't think I know many people who eat it once a week. Never hear colleagues say they're off home for pizza for dinner, for example. Can't think of friends who are massive pizza fans. I don't eat it very much at all, because I just don't find it a very exciting meal.

GloriaGaynor · 12/03/2017 23:07

I don't even eat it once a year. Don't really like it. So I'm surprised too and YANBU.

WorraLiberty · 12/03/2017 23:07

My DP takes the same sandwich to work every day, and has for years.

Must be well fucking mouldy by now.

RatOnnaStick · 12/03/2017 23:09

I could live without it. They boys get it after swimming on wednesdays as it's quick and easy to cook before bedtime but I can't remember the last time I had one at home.

megletthesecond · 12/03/2017 23:10

Saturday night is pizza night in this house. Everyone likes it. Doesn't take me long to cook and minimal washing up.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 12/03/2017 23:10

We make yoghurt base pizzas (you mix about 1 cup natural yoghurt with 1 1/2 cups of self raising flour, then knead it and roll it out). Add toppings and cheese and bake for 12-15 mins. Beautiful pizzas

HashiAsLarry · 12/03/2017 23:11

We have pizza once a week or fortnight. All homemade though. No cheese for me either because I'm a wierdo apparently which helps calorie wise I guess Grin

TinklyLittleLaugh · 12/03/2017 23:13

We eat it probably every other Saturday night. Homemade base from the breadmaker topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella, salami, red onion, red pepper, mushrooms and chilli. Ocaisionally rocket or asparagus (when we have a glut from the garden) or an egg cracked on.

PlymouthMaid1 · 12/03/2017 23:13

We have home made about once every two to three weeks. I make the bread dough base and a tomato garlic gloop then smother in mushrooms with some blue cheese and. Mozzarella. Home made coleslaw too. Not keen on supermarket pizza but when my kids were young it was weekly on swimming night for speed.

ArriettyClock1 · 12/03/2017 23:14

We have a pizza almost every Saturday night.

Completely homemade, inc dough and sauce. Probably really fattening, but bloody lovely.

GoodnightSeattle · 12/03/2017 23:15

Oh god I wish I got to eat pizza once a week Sad

Egg breakfast (fry up or cereal if being naughty), salad or leftover dinner for lunch, some form of meat and veg for dinner with, if I am the luckiest of them all, will involve a small amount of glorious carbohydrate.

Can you tell I'm dieting right now OP.

However most people at work tend to be the same as me unless they're stick thin and under 25, their metabolism not having betrayed them yet.
