To have wanted to report this guy

Getting off a packed train at King's Cross today I noticed an extremely drunk man with his daughter. She was about 5/6, he had evidently brought her up to London for the weekend. I know he was drunk because a) he REEKED of booze b) his eyes were red c) he nearly fell off the train getting off. He went the wrong way towards the end of the platform before someone pointed him in the right direction. Last I heard of him was 'Right, let's go to Lessersqqquare'

My heart broke in two for his lovely shiny girl, with her backpack and excited eyes.

Should I have reported him? Could I have? Who to?

Perhaps they got on together and he was already pissed? Perhaps he got pissed on the train? He wouldn't have been the only one. I don't know. I didn't tail them from their houses. I just heard her say 'when mummy put me on'. And saw how pissed he was.

I wonder what the lovely shiny girl with excited eyes had in her backpack?

Userone1 · 10/03/2017 20:31

Cans of lagers....obviously!!

Catsize · 10/03/2017 20:33

It is a shame you didn't report. If they can be bothered, British ?Transport Police (regrettably notoriously inept) can get the train and station CCTV (of both stations) and maybe use cameras to trace the girl back to a car with an identifiable registration. A long shot but might make you feel better. And you might be lucky with the BTP. Hopefully someone else reported him. Poor kid.

A back-up-supply of special brew in her backpack...

I hope someone did what you did not.

People with MS can stumble, fall over their feet and shuffle as they walk, much like a drunk does. Their speech can also be slurred and their general movements unstable. Some MS sufferers (like me) carry cards just for this reason - in case they are pulled up by the police or someone else questioning their sobriety. Just a thought...

Usernoida- ironically I dropped it 6 hours before you told me to drop it!

I was just pulling the OP's leg
