To have wanted to report this guy

Getting off a packed train at King's Cross today I noticed an extremely drunk man with his daughter. She was about 5/6, he had evidently brought her up to London for the weekend. I know he was drunk because a) he REEKED of booze b) his eyes were red c) he nearly fell off the train getting off. He went the wrong way towards the end of the platform before someone pointed him in the right direction. Last I heard of him was 'Right, let's go to Lessersqqquare'

My heart broke in two for his lovely shiny girl, with her backpack and excited eyes.

Should I have reported him? Could I have? Who to?

I don't want sympathy for witnessing this. To suggest I do is bonkers.

Im not happy that I didn't act. In hindsight I should've. But I didn't see how I could've, without following this man and his child with my two year old in tow.

I don't care about the man owning pit bulls. The manner in which he was speaking about them was disorganised and, well, drunken.

So why didn't you follow him with your two year old in tow?

I mean, until you got as far as a member of staff - of which there are tons at King's Cross?

If I had followed him, how would I also have found a guard/policeman?

You were on the same train as them, you overheard the conversation of the little girl being put on the train alone? Close enough to smell the booze, see his red eyes and hear his slurred speech?

You would have passed loads of staff members, dressed in bright hi-vis waistcoats/jackets

He was getting off as I was getting off. We were in the vestibule for about five mins prior to exiting the train.

From what I can gather dad was on the train with girl, so was OP and she overhead the conversation of little girl and dad about being put on the train by her mum to go and meet her dad!
