Okay so Saturday morning I come out to find a big pile of crap (builders sand etc) completely blocking me into my parking space. As DH & I were getting the train to stay away for the weekend I grumbled loudly & left it. Couldn't immediately see who it belonged to & assumed fly tipping.

Got home Sunday evening, it's still there. Neighbour who parks next to me was out so I was able to move my car & just parked it in the road.

Phoned the council Monday morning to report fly tipping.

Got home Monday night & there's an entire broken fence piled up in my space & the pile still there. There's also a sign up for the person carrying out the work.

I called him & gave him a polite earful (didn't swear or anything). Told him he was blocking me out of my space, I'd reported it as fly tipping, he's inconsiderate etc. He promised me it would be gone today & told me it was the people 3 doors down from me having the work done.

I knock on neighbours door, full of excuses "access is difficult" (it's not) "he didn't have anywhere else to put it" (except their parking space or their front or back gardens) etc etc. I told him that wasn't my problem but if he'd bothered to knock on my door or put a note through my door I wouldn't have been nearly so pissed off. He assured me it would be gone today.

Except it's not is it!!! Fence panels are gone but the pile is still there. Neighbour is out.

Do I text the builder & tell him that as it's not gone & it's been there since Saturday on a public highway I'm calling the council back to pass on his details? Do I go back round to the neighbours when he gets home?

Or do I leave it? Am I just making something out of nothing? I'm not really inconvenienced am I, it just means parking another 6 feet away. But I'm so pissed off!!!

Obligatory diagram enclosed! NDN is twatty neighbour.

Another parking one! AIBU?

If he comes round then I will update you all! Although I very much doubt he will as he struck me as a bit wet!

Thank you MNetters, the rage is returning!

Park in ndn space and phone council to report fly tipping

MrsJaniceBattersby · 07/03/2017 17:49

Serves them right
How dare they just dump it
Sometimes we are just too polite for our own good .

PollyBanana · 07/03/2017 17:50

Even without pile of crap, how do you get into space with "bright green other neighbour" there?

londonrach · 07/03/2017 17:50

Ndn owes you wine and choc for this!!!

Mehfruittea · 07/03/2017 17:52

Yay!!! So glad you parked in his space!

fabulousathome · 07/03/2017 17:54

If someone drives into it, or falls over it in the dark you have reported it so cannot be blamed. Warm any visitors though!

blackteasplease · 07/03/2017 17:54

I was also going to say to park in their space but I see others have beaten me to it, and you have done so.

HappyFlappy · 07/03/2017 17:54

I've been out & moved my car into their space.^

You STAR! Star Star Star

MyShinyThing · 07/03/2017 17:55

I knew someone was going to ask that Polly! I got the scale a bit wrong, so their car isn't actually as close to mine as it looks. Although I can only reverse in as it's impossible to reverse out of the space because of the curb & the angle. But that's another issue altogether!

PS - Kudos on the label "pile o' crap".

It has an easy grace about it (and could serve as a description for a PizzaHut salad).

Well done!

HappyFlappy · 07/03/2017 17:57

I got the scale a bit wrong

Doesn't matter - colours compensate/

Friolero · 07/03/2017 18:00

I've nothing to add apart from lovely diagram, and well done for parking in their space. Keep us updated if they say anything!

MyShinyThing · 07/03/2017 18:01

See as soon as I saw the pile there was a little part of me thinking 'MN is going to love this'!

Oh god I hope I don't get a punch Meh!!! NDN doesn't strike me as the type to be honest, although I haven't spoken to his wife!

I did think it should be lit if it's in the road but then it's so unlikely that anyone but me would be walking there. Although DS did climb it while my back was turned!

Bollocks! Another evening lost to a parking thread. Pulls up chair, poors drink, ignores family.. pass the popcorn.

MyShinyThing · 07/03/2017 18:02

Have to say, felt a bit under pressure with the diagram. There have been some really good ones recently. Grin

EweAreHere · 07/03/2017 18:02

He should have have the crap put into his own damn parking space. He DID have a parking space to put it in; he just didn't give a crap about anyone else, only himself.

Your NDN is a complete arse. I'm glad you've moved your car into his parking space.

I hope he doesn't have the balls to complain to you about it! If he does, I would absolutely let him have it verbally.

JonSnowsWhore · 07/03/2017 18:03

Can someone pleeeease tell me what all this getting punched in the nose thing is about? I obviously missed the thread!
I'd also send the text mentioned above about builder friend coming to move the stuff for you, he should soon come running then

HappyFlappy · 07/03/2017 18:03

I wish there was a way of alerting MNers in the neighbourhood and we could all go over with wheelbarrows and shovels and move all the sh1te detritus onto the offending neighbours drive and shout abue through the letterbox

EweAreHere · 07/03/2017 18:03

And report them for fly tipping anyways. I hope NDN has to pay the builder's fine since he probably told them to just put it there.

Newdad19 · 07/03/2017 18:08

Dont take any snash from him. Hate ridiculously entitled people like this.

MyShinyThing · 07/03/2017 18:11

See NDN says he didn't but that he also couldn't see where else he could have put it! I did point out he had his own space as well as a front & a back garden!

He also claimed it had only been there since Sunday but it was there at 9am Saturday when we left so he obviously hasn't got a clue.

I've stuck my head out the back window & the fence isn't finished so he's obviously coming back tomorrow.

I'm afraid some of you might have to feed the kids after all, I can't see this getting much more exciting to be honest Grin

You should also ask for his insurance details because if anyone 'accidentally' falls on the pile of crap you will be pursuing a lot of compensation. And any time you talk to him get your phone out and video him, telling him you need to keep a record in case of legal proceedings.

Hidingtonothing · 07/03/2017 18:13

Not placemarking at all, honest Wink OP I salute your diagram and parking in wet NDN's space. 🍿 at the ready, parking threads rule Grin

CigarsofthePharoahs · 07/03/2017 18:21

We had some entitled neighbours in my old house. It wasn't allocated parking (mores the pity) but there was plenty go round if you weren't a selfish git.
We had someone doing building work who dumped a skip and had big vans turning up using 4 spaces for several weeks. The residents association told them they were not allowed a skip.
Oh and the lazy git who, on an icy day, abandoned his sports car between the rows of garages as he couldn't manoeuvre it on the ice properly due to his wanky slick tyres.
People complained as he was blocking garages and he sent a snotty note round blaming everyone else for "parking badly and not giving him room to manoeuvre"
Nobody was parked in his way!
