I am cozie! It's funny how 'time' is. 2018 seems 'forever away' from today, but really isn't not. The campaigning will begin in earnest soon and I think those GOP senators/Reps up for reelection will have to stand up and absolutely 'declare' themselves. It may very well impact how they vote on the ACA bill, if they perceive that their constituency is unhappy with the provisions.
The removal of the mandate for large employers to provide insurance is really going to hit a lot of Trump's supporters hard. Many of them will lose EGHP (employment group health plan) coverage when their employers are told 'Hey! You don't have to do that anymore!!!'. Walmart for one used to hand new employees the paperwork to file for Medicaid. That was their idea of EGHP coverage. Others will see their premiums skyrocket as employers no longer pay their 'fair share' of the premiums or they're forced into the 'private market'.
Saying that 'We will make insurance available for everyone' means diddly-shit. A Ferrari dealer will also say that about Ferraris. But just because that Ferrari is 'available' to anyone certainly doesn't mean it's 'affordable'.
