Nobody is more anti racist than me.
Nobody loves women more than me.
Nobody is a bigger fan of the first amendment than me.

Seriously. What kind of person talks like that? If his actions are anything to go by, I would say he is seriously deluded. And nobody says that better than me Grin

GingerIvy · 24/02/2017 16:33

He's going to dismantle the entire welfare system, isn't he??

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 16:34

That would be the STBX Head of NSA, Ginger? Wink

GingerIvy · 24/02/2017 16:37

People on welfare in the states are on a far more perilous system than they are in the UK. I dread to think of how many will end up homeless and destitute.

amispartacus · 24/02/2017 16:39

Surely the people on welfare are the ones left behind? The ones who voted for him?

Cuts haven't hit yet, ami.

peaceout · 24/02/2017 16:48

I dread to think of how many will end up homeless and destitute
all the better to demonise and marginalise them.
An underclass of people at the bottom will be too stressed and ill just getting by from day to day to be any real threat to those in power

divide and rule etc etc

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 16:49

I'm also, forcibly, reminded of that famous scene with Jim Hacker trying to persuade a Minister of 'Health' to introduce a cigarette ban.

One of the arguments that the Minster put forward was that additional deaths were 'evenly spread - not wholly in marginal constituencies'. Or words to that effect.

merrymouse · 24/02/2017 16:53

I love the way Trump doesn't claim to have done anything as exotic and unamerican as visit Paris himself. he claims that a friend of his can't visit Paris anymore.

Re: the state visit, is Theresa sure Trump accepted? He doesn't sound too keen on going to Europe.

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 16:55

Would you want to leave Pence alone in the WH for a week? Smile

Lweji · 24/02/2017 17:04

Re: the state visit, is Theresa sure Trump accepted? He doesn't sound too keen on going to Europe.

Now, that's a plan.

Instead of petitions, just make sure there are enough bomb threats.

Trump falsely claims lines "go back 6 blocks"

He forgot to say what type of blocks. He clearly meant LEGO blocks. That's what's in his heart, even if his words seems to mean something else.

AcrossthePond55 · 24/02/2017 17:13

Please, please tell me that there's a photog outside to provide proof of the lack of '6 block lines'.

My eyes hurt from the involuntary eyerolls. 🙄

Surely the people on welfare are the ones left behind? The ones who voted for him?

Actually no, more people on low incomes voted Hillary. Trump was voted in my the middle classes and wealthy. This idea that it is the poor who voted in droves for him is a myth. By "left behind" they mean the white middle class men who are upset by equality and feminism eroding their dominance.

See stats: uk.businessinsider.com/exit-polls-who-voted-for-trump-clinton-2016-11?r=US&IR=T/#more-young-people-voted-for-clinton-but-that-bloc-did-not-include-as-many-voters-as-those-over-40-who-as-a-majority-voted-for-trump-2

I particularly like this part.....

"Osorio Chong also said Friday that if the US government tries to pressure Mexico by threatening to withdraw funding from the nearly $2.5bn Merida Initiative to fight organized crime, Mexico will let that money go.

The initiative that was started in 2008 is winding down with most remaining funding going to Mexican states implementing reforms to the justice system, Osorio Chong said. In its early years, Merida outfitted Mexico’s military with helicopters and trained its security forces.

“If that resource could be an issue for pressure or if they want to pressure the government, honestly, we have no problem, none, if they withdraw it,” he said.

The US embassy in Mexico City did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
