Crisp sandwich - normal, right?

I LOVE a crisp sandwich. Especially with salt n vinegar crisps. Was thinking I'd love one earlier (but no crisps in the house) and then remembered a friend thinking I was totally bonkers for having crisps in a sandwich.

Anyone else? Or is my friend right and I'm totally bonkers...?!

On that note, any other 'out of the norm' sandwich fillings you all in enjoy?

Not served alongside. Certainly not in the sandwich. Not as part of lunch, at all.

Cheese and onion or roast chicken ate the best, on really fresh white bread. Lovely!

I don't really eat sandwiches, but DP loves a crisp sandwich. Totally normal.

I prefer to put crisps in an omelette. Your friend probably would find that weird but I got the idea when reading about a Spanish chef who ran what was considered to be the best restaurant in the world. It was the favourite lunch that his chefs liked to make themselves before work and works best with thick cut salted crisps.

I like a soft white bread roll with lots of margerine and prawn cocktail crisps!

The only way we eat prawn cocktail crisps in put house is in a white roll (except skips which are mine and only mine)

I carefully make hole and eat the lovely soft middle of a scotch morning roll leaving a perfect pocket and if I stuff then crunch, stuff then crunch I can sometimes fit a whole packet of cheese and onion in there.

A friend used to eat mashed potato sandwiches, I found that odd.

Very. But DH puts reheated leftover cottage pie into a sandwich and that makes sense too.

Ooh yes. Crisp sandwiches are yum. As are fried egg ones or banana and honey.

Mrshathaway- whenever my family have cottage pie,I make us all a bit of bread and butter for a cottage pie sandwich.delicious.

Cheap white bread, thick proper butter and cheese and onion walkers is lovely.

I blame MN for me being a fatty, i was just tucking into my healthy homemade cauli soup and now i have two slices of white bread with a fuckton little butter, slapped full of bacon crisps...

jesus OP, you terrible deviant.

bread is soft. crisps are crunchy. these two things are fundamentally incompatible. otherwise the softness of the bread pollutes the crispiness of the crisps and vice versa.

So, you butter the bread, or not?

Enjoy. I can't have that sort of sandwich anymore, I've got to watch my carb intake. The memory of a crisp sandwich with cheese and pickle makes me smile though.

The great feeling of success when I get a whole bag of smokey bacon between two slices of buttered bread! Of course, the first bite scatters crumbs everywhere.

I LOVE a crisp sandwich, but not only with crisps. The crisps need to be with something. Like a PP, my personal fav would be ham with cheese n onion walkers. However, cheese and ready salted is also nice. Anything with soft bread and crunchy crisps is such a wonderful mix of textures/ flavours. YUUUUUUM

Cheese and Marmite sandwiches, on white bread, with ready salted crisps is the food of the gods.

You have to properly squish it down first, saves on wasting the crisps making crumbs.
