The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!

GingerIvy · 21/02/2017 23:25

I'd like to think Pence will be smarter than choosing Palin. She's not well respected anywhere. If he's smart, he'd choose someone like McCain. It would unite the arguing factions quite nicely.

Bringing the country together again?

McCain is well respected - he was anti-Trump, but never anti-Pence. He has the respect of most of the public from both sides as he's ex military. And he's a staunch Republican, but has a decent streak in him.

cozietoesie · 21/02/2017 23:28

The country is effectively split at the moment, I think, ami. Pence may try to put it together again but I don't know how successful he'll be in the medium term.

GingerIvy · 21/02/2017 23:30

If Pence moved to POTUS spot and brought in McCain as VP, it would be an incredibly smart move, and I think it's probably the one person as VP that the Democrats would likely grudgingly support.

Is he suggesting that activists plan demonstrations when they are angry and organise and plan them?

No shit...What did he think happens?

OP posts:
GingerIvy · 21/02/2017 23:32

I assume ami that he is stating these are "paid protesters."

Deejoda · 21/02/2017 23:33

How can a crowd be so-called angry? Is he suggesting the crowd is pretending to be angry? Envy stupid incoherent little man.

By the way HamletsSister that doll is better looking than DT and its hair is positively normal

cozietoesie · 21/02/2017 23:33

It might just solve May's little local difficulty (!) I suppose. If you were a failed film maker would you leave DC for a week with the VP In charge and unsupervised? Wink

Destinysdaughter · 21/02/2017 23:48

What's happening right now is just not the America I recognise, it's like reading about some far flung dictatorship...

cozietoesie · 21/02/2017 23:53

I suspect that it's not the America many Americans recognise, Destinys.

TheClaws · 21/02/2017 23:56

Checking in ...lots of movement overnight! Love that Mugabe is sending his love and encouragement to Trump. That should reassure everyone

cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 00:04

You see, ami, you're just a victim of 'muddled thinking' again.

Supporters (of any description) are BIGLY AND GOOD.

Detractors (of any description) are SAD AND BAD.

You really have to get up to speed on this. Grin

peaceout · 22/02/2017 00:10

maybe it was a so-called crowd, exhibiting FAKE anger?

TheClaws · 22/02/2017 00:41

ami I don't quite understand what he's implying with the last tweet - if he's implying anything at all. So he encounters protests. Inevitably, these will be liberal protestors. Aaannd? They will be "angry crowds, and generally, they are planned, because that's how protests work. You get a group of like-minded people together in a particular place at a particular time and - protest. Right? Am I missing something?

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2017 00:47

The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!

Duh, Mr. POTUS. Yes, they are planned. Just like your rally in Melbourne was planned. The relevant part of the Constitution (if you need a reference) is the "right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Planning is good, not sad. Liberal is good, not sad. Activism is good, not sad.

TheClaws · 22/02/2017 00:51

This sort of idiocy bothers me as while everyone (including me) might say "what a mindless thing for DT to tweet! That's how protests work!" I can see him hovering in the direction of restriction of free speech. Worst case scenario.

TheClaws · 22/02/2017 00:59

I've been meaning to ask you all here a question: what do you do if you have close family members that are unwavering alt-right supporters? My brother is one.

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2017 01:12

TheClaws One of my brothers voted for Trump; he is definitely right of center, but not alt-right. By agreement, we just don't talk about politics at all.

cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 02:08

I suspect, Claws, that it's one to ask yourself 'What else does he believe in?' These things are rarely in isolation.

TheClaws · 22/02/2017 02:22

Cozie I'm not sure I want to know Sad. From the things he's been posting lately, I have reason to doubt his grasp on a number of things. Of course, he's entitled to his own opinion and views, but I sense enormous gaps in knowledge behind those views. He won't listen to anyone else.

I don't know. We have Brexit-voting, warm to Trump immediate family. It is really hard reconciling your love for the individual with their challenging views on things that seem so wrong and reckless.
