To think that there MUST be a beatles song for everyone

Quite a few people have said on here they don't like the Beatles music. But surely with songs ranging from the likes of Hey Jude, Let it be, The long and winding road to In my life, And i love her, I wanna hold your hand and countless countless more there's got to be something for everyone.

I'm prepared for people to say they hate their music but it's so varied and diverse that i struggle to understand this. Aibu.

Goodness' sake, seagazer. I'm about as big a Beatles fan as they come, but you're not doing yourself any favours throwing your toys out of the pram!

'There MUST be a Beatles song for EVERYONE!'
'Um, no, I really don't like them, actually.'
'You're WRONG WRONG WRONG! Lalalalala can't hear you, you didn't say anything!'

Ok then Hmm

Gwilt160981 · 19/02/2017 13:34

Weren't keen as a child but now I appreciate their music.

fairweathercyclist · 19/02/2017 13:40

I think my favourite is the Long and Winding Road. Also like Penny Lane and Hey Jude.

There is a real mix of styles, I would have also thought most people would find at least one track they like or can at least tolerate listening to.

bloodyteenagers · 19/02/2017 13:56

I was friends with a beatle bore. Sounds actually a bit like the op. Often came out with bullshit that certain genres of music weren't music.

The bore oh but teens everyone likes at least one beatle song.
No.
But what about this one?
No.
the whole catalogue later.
No.
The bore every party they attended whether they hosted Or not put on the fucking Beatles.

LordPercy · 19/02/2017 14:02

Oh FFS, if people want to call The Beatles mediocre, that's their opinion! HmmYou can't impose your will on others - you're the type of Beatles fanatic that annoy the hell out of me.

KnitMeAUnicorn · 19/02/2017 14:05

Me too, Lord Percy. And I'm a Beatles fanatic! Grin

SallyGinnamon · 19/02/2017 14:14

I don't like the Beatles music but then I don't like much music anyway. I think it's partly because I don't like the Liverpool accent and partly because I didn't think much of them as individuals.

But then for some reason I quite like Oasis and you couldn't get more ahole type people.

Yet you weren't prepared for it AT ALL, SeaGazer. Lots of people have said they don't like it even, and you've still argued.

So funny. Grin

I love Metallica, but loads of my friends don't. I don't play their music when friends are around, trying to convince them that they should. They don't like that music, so they shouldn't be coerced into it. I like it, and Nothing Else Matters. (heh heh)

I8toys · 19/02/2017 15:18

I love all kinds of music and can appreciate their structure and lyrical content. Something is one of my favourites and Fool on the Hill oh and a Day in the Life. There are just so many.

I love the fact that they transcend generations. I remember learning the songs in music at school and so have my children. We all sing them together when they come on the radio.

zen1 · 19/02/2017 15:19

I was a real fan of 60s music as a young teen (in the 80s Hmm). I like Across the Universe (though that's probably more Lennon). Nowadays, I spend my time listening to 80s and 90s music.

Brainwashed · 19/02/2017 15:52

Moonrisekingdom I absolutely love George Harrison's solo stuff....hence my user name.

woodhill · 19/02/2017 17:12

I particularly like Abbey Road with the medley of songs and Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

I liked 60s as a teen and still do.

My ds sometimes plays Beatles on his guitar.

JacquesHammer · 19/02/2017 17:53

Totally dull and passe and I'm put off even more by rabid fans being desperate to convert because they can't fathom that people have different tastes.

acornsandnuts · 20/02/2017 08:16

let's be fair, none of that stuff will still be getting played in 50 years time

I beg to differ. I KNOW The fresh prince of Bel Air will still be going strong many many years from now.

I feckin love the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme. Truly a classic. Better than any shite put out by the Beatles. Grin
