To think that there MUST be a beatles song for everyone

Quite a few people have said on here they don't like the Beatles music. But surely with songs ranging from the likes of Hey Jude, Let it be, The long and winding road to In my life, And i love her, I wanna hold your hand and countless countless more there's got to be something for everyone.

I'm prepared for people to say they hate their music but it's so varied and diverse that i struggle to understand this. Aibu.

I do like some.

They had a double A side single at No. 1 in the charts on-the-go day I was born. It was Yellow Submarine and Eleanor Rugby, ironically two of the songs I like best.

Yellowbird54321 · 18/02/2017 22:18

Thank you Moonrise but I did not come here seeking conversion Grin

seagazer · 18/02/2017 22:18

I agree Percy of course it's a personal choice. This post isn't about who our personal favourites are.The beatles were before my time and i like many other artists more than them. But that doesn't mean that the other artists i like are more talented than them. I like Snow Patrol myself, but you either like Snow Patrol or dont, but they haven't got the massive diversity that the Beatles have, where there is something for everyone, hence my question.

While my guitar gently weeps. George was the coolest.

MoonriseKingdom · 18/02/2017 22:20

Ha yellow - I'm a wide eyed true believer Grin

EggsEleven · 18/02/2017 22:20

I can't bear the Beatles. However, I will make an exception for the song 'Here Comes the Sun'.

The Beach Boys were much better Smile

ShelaghTurner · 18/02/2017 22:21

I detest the Beatles. But, I love In My Life and Here, There and Everywhere. Double but, I hate the way they are performed. I've heard much much better versions. So for songwriting, yes they've got it with those two, otherwise yeuch.

Cookingongas · 18/02/2017 22:22

I was a Beatles hater prior to the last mn bestie thread. They are very diverse. Blackbird turned me.

ijustwannadance · 18/02/2017 22:24

Don't like the Beatles. Worked in Matthew Street for years when I was younger. Hated all the tribute acts.

Eolian · 18/02/2017 22:25

I love the Beatles, but I don't understand why you think everyone's got to like them just because their songs were quite varied. People can quite happily dislike a whole variety of songs!

MoonriseKingdom · 18/02/2017 22:26

First dance at my wedding Grin

(I'll back away from the thread now)

elQuintoConyo · 18/02/2017 22:26

Beatles are on a par with Coldplay. Or vice versa.

woodhill · 18/02/2017 22:27

Love the Beatles but DH doesn't, never get bored of their music.

piefacerecords · 18/02/2017 22:28

They were good for their time - or more accurately, they were new for their time.

Now, I don't think they're particularly relevant anymore. For me their music hasn't stood the test of time. There's definitely not a Beatles song for me. I do like a lot of Lennon's solo stuff though.

seagazer · 18/02/2017 22:31

Eolian But i'm not saying i expect everyone to like them. I'm saying that out of all their music i think there's something for everyone. You don't have to like them.

I like the one that sounds like it could be the Kinks. But I can't remember what it is. All I know is that I like it when I hear it and am always Confused when they say it was The Beatles as I'm convinced it was the Kinks. Every.single.time.

surferjet · 18/02/2017 22:35

Yanbu op. A lot of their stuff is timeless. Is there a better love song than 'something' ?
I love them ( so does ds! )

OnHold · 18/02/2017 22:38

Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

SuperBeagle · 18/02/2017 22:40

I hate The Beatles music.

The only song I like is Helter Skelter, and that's because it's so un-Beatles in sound. My DM thought it was a Stones song for a long time.

AYankinSpanx · 18/02/2017 22:41

I'm hardly a fan, but I like the odd Beatles song.

For No-one is the best.

Still don't warm to Paul McCartney though.

OnHold · 18/02/2017 22:42

I don't like the Beatles much. I'm quite fond of the Sergeant Pepper album though because it's a bit trippy.

CatsBatsEars · 18/02/2017 22:43

I love 'something' beautiful love song

maras2 · 18/02/2017 22:43

8 days a week.Just to hear 'I luuurrvve yew'

surferjet · 18/02/2017 22:43

Love 'Revolution' & Don't let me down.

OnHold · 18/02/2017 22:45

Paul McCartney is a bit of a drip though. Wheeled out for state occastions
