To throw out all the talc!

We've been given 4 big tubs of talc by people for when baby comes but have been told in antenatal classes not to use it for baby as it can be dangerous (if inhaled). We won't use it ourselves so just chuck it all?

If unopened food banks will take it

Donate / bin, yanbu

Def chuck / donate it. It's also been linked to ovarian cancer (if baby is female obvs!)
Hospices / old people's homes might use it.

Save it for trips to the beach - it's brilliant for getting sand off skin.

It's also bloody great after swimming.

You don't need to use it all the time, it's just very useful occasionally.

If you need to get dressed in a hurry after swimming/showering or if you have to get into skinny jeans etc

In the summer when your all hot and sweaty you can talc your armpits

If you have thigh Chafage under a dress/skirt if you talc your inner thighs then they just glide past each other

For disguising roots in blonde hair, or as a dry shampoo alternative

I would keep a tub just in case!

It's useful for rubbing on knitting needles to stop them sticking, and it makes your finished knitting smell nice. That's about it.

TheImprobableGirl do you want it? It's taking up space so we'll just get rid I think as I'm not a leather trouser fan and prefer deodorant for the old pits!
Food bank is a good idea although if it's that bad for babies I don't want it getting donated to a family who might not know that!

Personally I would just bin it.
I think the research and evidence is ongoing but there alternatives to talc.

I don't think I would keep a bottle of talc in case I decide to buy leather trousers in the future!

I remember MIL bought talc when we had DD and DH and I told her not to use it and why when she babysat. We got home and she'd obviously ignored us as baby stank of talc.

We threw it in the bin.

Offer it to a nursery/early years centre, we use talc mixed with other materials (wet materials, so not in powder form) for safe messy/sensory play.

I use it instead of dry shampoo, it works really well

I like to shake a small amount between my breasts, stops them sweating.

Haha I sound a bit obsessed... surprisingly I have my own- but that said I didn't put it on my babies - you need deodorant and talc

Donating is a good idea. You will be cursing yourself when leather trousers are back in fashion though. And it really is useful for swimming caps

TheImprobableGirl, I now have visions of that episode of Ross from Friends with the leather trousers when he's on a date and can't get them back on so mixes talc with lotion

OP, personally I'd bin it. I was given some by couple of friends but have no intention of using it so binned it.

I'll have it. I put it on the bottom of my dance shoes if the floor's a bit sticky. Charity shop?

I use it on the joins of my wooden floor to stop squeaking when it expands in the summer.

I don't use it on people though.....

DrivingMeBonkers it's the inhalation warnings on the packaging itself that make me think I wouldn't risk using it for my baby.

My entire toilette is made up of stuff-we-can't-sell-at-the-charity-shop.

Not a toiletry ignored is the way with respectable charities - if it's opened we can't sell it so the vols buy it for 'donation only'. Drop it round.

A propos of nothing, my best buy was a once-squirted penhaligons.
