From the Guardian article: "The president was confidently unhinged..."

I wish I could laugh.

AndHoldTheBun · 16/02/2017 22:56

Checking in. Still reeling from the absolute horror show presser, good to see it's attracted a huge amount of media coverage... maybe people are waking up to how awful the whole situation is?

cozietoesie · 16/02/2017 22:56

Indeed, M0stly.

Yay, a new thread.GOOD THING.

NotAMammy · 16/02/2017 22:59

Holy shit, I just saw one of his people being interviewed by BBC. I say interviewed, but he mostly just ranted, denied, minimised and blamed. Now, I definitely think BBC is hardly unbiased, but this was ridiculous. Apparently you can now make a claim, and if challenged on it, you tell the viewers to google it instead of presenting a reasoned argument with research and facts.
And that press conference was just bizarre.

I wonder what Putin's reaction to the presser was?

I didn't see that I fear, chartreuse? Which guy?

GingerIvy · 16/02/2017 23:04

I have serious respect for Shep Smith after watching that video clip of him on Fox News.

CussingQuim · 16/02/2017 23:04

Apparently Shep's always been a voice of reason on Fox, and there are already calls to fire him.

What have I missed?Did watch some of the press but got seriously bored of the same drivel but fear I've missed something now.

minifingerz · 16/02/2017 23:09

"What we saw today was the old Donald Trump from the campaign trail and it was fabulous" - Trump advisor @SebGorka"

Mr Gorka - were we watching the same conference? Because I saw a rambling, incoherent, contradictory, vindictive, windy, boast-barf. Not fabulous. At all

cozietoesie · 16/02/2017 23:11

Clnz

I posted a link upthread to an article on it. It was, possibly, a little biased - but not that much. Sad

SenecaFalls · 16/02/2017 23:13

and there are already calls to fire him.

Because Shep's an actual journalist. He must feel like the Lone Ranger at Fox.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 16/02/2017 23:15

Both the telegraph and the guardian called the press conference extraordinary. Which could be taken many ways.

I read somewhere that sentiment analysis of social media (FB/Twitter) doesn't work on British feeds because it misses sarcasm and irony bigly and interprets stuff like "fantastic Hmm" as positive. It does work on US feeds, although I suspect it might struggle on Trump threads of late.

FWIW, Republicans on the Hill were panicked behind the scenes by Trump's performance today.

peaceout · 16/02/2017 23:18

it's all thrillingly exciting!

cozietoesie · 16/02/2017 23:18

Might I ask any US residents who are posting or reading, what they or their friends and family thought of the presser?
