Love scots though please don't get me wrong.

Again, in your opinion.

Yes and in many others opinion too, and also in the facts.

cheeseandcrackers77 · 04/02/2017 21:27

Sorry should say NS did not stand in the GE 15 but she said a vote for the SNP was not a vote for indy.

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:28

Like I said she is playing a blinding long game. Her main goal is independence for Scotland (even though that would render the requirement for a SNP obsolete) as the best outcome for Scotland. She and the SNP are doing a great job for us with what they are allowed.

cheeseandcrackers77 · 04/02/2017 21:33

Well yes but that goes against her saying she governs Scotland for all people regardless of party view or indy view but how can she if she keeps harping on about Indy. Fine if you share that end goal but she has said it before independence transepts everything so please tell me how can she hand on heart honestly say she is putting the needs of Scotland first when only 2 years ago the people of Scotland rejected the need for us to be independent.

brighthouse · 04/02/2017 21:35

No. Don't like her politics.

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:38

She is putting the needs of Scotland before anything else. What do you think putting the needs of Scotland last would get her at the elections? Her government are passionate about getting the best for Scotland. With or without independence.

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 21:39

Like I said she is playing a blinding long game. And in the meantime it's fine if our children are failing and people are below the poverty line and she has the power to change that?

She and the SNP are doing a great job for us with what they are allowed.

How? and why aren't they using the powers that they fought for?

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 21:42

What do you think putting the needs of Scotland last would get her at the elections? a lower share of the vote? Obviously the sheeple will vote for them regardless so they will have that base vote and the other parties have done them and Scotland no favours either.

Plus, you just blame westminster for anything and everything regardless and that gets lapped up like mothers' milk.

Her government are passionate about getting the best for Scotland. With or without independence.

Again, How?

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:43

Scotland rejected independence after project fear and biased media and 'the vow' and lies to pensioners where they were phoned and told their pensions would disappear with independence. People I know were told by their bosses a vote for independence meant they would be unemployed the next day. Even at that it was close. I'm praying for another vote.

SleepyRoo · 04/02/2017 21:46

I met her , at length, and I liked her. Massively ambitious but genuine. Am not Scottish though.

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 21:47

Project Fear my arse - that's just a made up phrase from the SNP to make people think that they would be weak if they didn't vote Yes.

You don't need Project Fear, the white paper was quite enough.

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:47

Who else are Scots to vote for Wankers? And how are the SNP not doing well?

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:48

I could list positives from their website but feel I wouldn't do well here 😂

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 21:51

Who else are Scots to vote for Wankers?

That is a problem granted.

And how are the SNP not doing well? Well actually, I have answered many of your questions about why I think we'd do better without independence, how about you answer why you think they are doing well like you've been asked and without resorting to cutting and pasting from propaganda, just answer honestly on what you've seem them do that has improved life for you and your community. I'm sure there must be good stuff.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 04/02/2017 21:53

I'm unclear as to how predictions about income dropping and jobs being lost (for instance) are taken as gospel and a disaster for Scotland in the context of Brexit (even though, so far, the U.K. is faring much better than expected), but when it comes to the independence debate they're unfounded and disgraceful scaremongering. Surely the issues and arguments are extremely similar, except that the UK is actually worth a lot more to the Scottish economy than the EU, and that Scotland has fewer resources to draw on in the event of separation than the UK, so the impact of independence would logically be much greater.

Calyx72 · 04/02/2017 21:57

NHS funding (I work for NHS and it's bad but worse in rUK)
Housing stock compared with Labour
More consultation- I do believe they listen, have just filled in the fracking consultation yesterday
Email updates on campaigns
Keeping Scottish rights on the agenda in Westminster- making our voice heard and being an effective opposition to the Tories as opposed to Labour who abstain
Being against Trident
Offering options on EU for Scotland
Nicola is going to Stornoway (where I'm from) this week. She does see above Stirling 😂
I'm on the prosecco so will stop there 😅

cheeseandcrackers77 · 04/02/2017 22:00

I did not vote no because of project fear and that statement sums up everything that is wrong with yes and SNP supporters. It couldn't be that to many people their arguments were flawed or that they just didn't have the answers to so many important questions. No it failed because of big bad Westminster and the media Hmm

cheeseandcrackers77 · 04/02/2017 22:03

And what will you do if there is another vote and it's another no. Just keep going spending millions until you get the right answer.

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 22:05

NHS funding comes from Westminster
No idea about housing stock
the only consultation i had was made to look like it was from the government but was actually from the SNP (in small letters at the bottom)
Updates on campaigns - for what, SNP issues? - how is that related to governing Scotland?
Holyrood has nothing to do with keeping stuff on the agenda in westminster, that's the job of elected MPs some of whom are SNP - not related to the job NS is supposed to be doing in Scotland
I'm for Trident or the equivalent - why wouldn't you be in these times?
Offering options on Eu in SCotland - she isn't offering anything, there are no options in the bag and she is going against the democratic decision that the people of the UK made by pretending she can block etc
Travelling to Stornoway - great, you can keep her up there

Enjoy your prosecco, I've resorted to a cider but I'm going to bed as soon as the dishwasher finishes it's cycle.

cheeseandcrackers77 · 04/02/2017 22:11

Again she has it wrong on the subject of trident. Scotland is not against it, the statistics show support is currently 50/50 but again please just ignore the % that don't agree with NS
She also hasn't given any ideas about the EU. She gave demands she knew fine well would/could never be agreed but then that fits in nicely with the "we tried but big bad Westminster doesn't like us" blame game they constantly pull.
She isn't nicknamed Elsie (as in it's everyone else's fault) for nothing Wink

Scaffleen · 04/02/2017 22:12

Why would anyone be for Trident when the person with their finger over the trigger is Trump Hmm
There is no point in nuclear weapons, never has been and never will be

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 22:15

Trump doesn't have his finger on the trigger of trident. There is absolutely a point to nuclear weapons, they've helped maintain peace and stability in the western world for many many years. The more turbulent the times, the more important it is to have the capability.

Scaffleen · 04/02/2017 22:21

How can a threat of global extinction make peace? The only reason Scotland will never become independent is because of trident.

WankersHacksandThieves · 04/02/2017 22:30

How can a threat of global extinction make peace? Whilst I wouldn't be a fan of actually using it and hope that it isn't ever used, using it doesn't necessarily mean that there would be global extinction.

Not having it makes us appear weak to people (Russia) who believe that being weak means that they can just do what they like to you. Not everyone shares a common outlook.

The only reason Scotland will never become independent is because of trident.

Really? How so? And if so, then great - suits me fine. But of course SNP would be happy to ignore that 50% of the electorate want it in order to pursue their aim.

trixymalixy · 04/02/2017 22:34

I have a certain amount of admiration for her. It's great to see so many strong women in Scottish politics. I also can't stand when people criticise her appearance.

However I can't bring myself to like someone who is systematically destroying my country and fostering such division between people. I can't stand her hypocrisy and her party treating the Scottish electorate like fools. Unfortunately they have such a cult following they seem to get away with telling people black is white.
