Thanks ami. I'm British but have Aussie citizenship via my father. Lots of family in Sydney - I will be curious to see their reaction to the Trump phone call. Pretty horrified I imagine. Australia really has always seen itself as close to America. I do worry as Australia has it's fair share of the far right. Look up a rather odious woman called Pauline Hanson whonleads the zone Nation party. She's Australia's Nigel Farage.

What the fuck do you do when your DH is killed on a special forces mission that seems to have been poorly planned and compromised - then the President decides to associate the death with himself and to use it to make a point?

The US has managed to stay ahead in many areas, from science to business because it has attracted the best from all over.
If it's no longer welcoming to migrants, they WILL flock elsewhere.
Put that together with a failing education system, and you end up with a failing country.

Australia just waking up still saying wtf? Just for info Australian soldiers fought along side the US in ww2, Korea , Vietnam, Iraq 1 and 2 and Afghanistan .
Pauline Hanson was seen outside our parliament drinking champagne when trump was elected.
