to still be cross about the outcome of the EU referendum?

I'm still so angry and can't forgive those who voted to leave. After the result there was much talk of how the two sides must put aside their differences but I don't feel there has been any attempt to try to appease the 48.1% of people who voted to stay. I also want to rip the head off any one who says it's the will of the people. They should be legally obligated to say it's the will of 51.9 % of the people who voted. If the vote had gone the other way you can bet that UKIP would still be making a huge fuss about it but remainers are expected to "just get over it"!

so many people are wasting their lives moaning about this,

How do you know they are 'wasting their lives?'

you don't know for sure how it will turn out, no one does,

Some people have already lost their jobs or money. So they have some idea how it's working out for them, no?

pipsqueak25 · 26/01/2017 11:55

birdy i hear what you are saying, but life is being wasted just complaining about it because you are using time thinking about it, verbalising it and writing about it, that is time you never get back.
a lot of stuff seems to have come about through knee jerk reactions, job loss etc there are many reasons for that happening, some companies might be cutting staff as it is cheaper to have more technology, tender work out abroad etc, this stuff would probably be happening with or without brexit. brexit being one good excuse to do so, considering nothing has really started yet.

iwanttoridemybicycle · 26/01/2017 13:58

I'm not cross, I'm fuming. But according to my Daily Fail worshipping parents it's all fine so far Hmmso no need to worry folks.
Turkeys voting for Christmas indeed. Thick, uneducated, racist turkeys who have fucked up my kids futures.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 26/01/2017 14:14

Thick, uneducated, racist turkeys who have fucked up my kids futures.

Wow. You know 17milion people, I am impressed.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 14:17

Is she not allowed to talk about her parents?

But Remainers don't show any signs of just getting over it!
They go on and on. They name call people who dared to express their democratic right to vote Leave.
They talk themselves onto some spurious moral high ground.
And bring expensive court cases which will ultimately change nothing

Wow. You know 16 million people, I am impressed.

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 26/01/2017 14:21

Things "have started" WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

THE POUND WENT TO A 31 year low, it is not likely to recover. This triggers inflation. The price of goods is increasing.

The levels of economic uncertainty are unprecedented since ww2. It's a great time to be an investment banker but not an ordinary citizen.

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 26/01/2017 14:38

The fact is that the Brexit process is yet to start and the fundamentals for consumers are only really now starting to soften as rising inflation eats into purchasing power.

WrongTrouser · 26/01/2017 15:16

Is she not allowed to talk about her parents?

Perhaps iwanttoride would like to clarify whether she was talking about her parents, only? It was a tad ambiguous.

Personally, I'm not sure if that's an okay way of talking about one's parents, but we're all different and I haven't met them.

Draylon - absolutely! All of this is going to happen gradually enough to seem attributable to other causes - or just bad luck - so Brexiteers are never going to have to face or comprehend the causality behind all the big fuck-ups that are coming.

I mean, in some cases it's really plain, but even then the response seems to be 'yeah but: sovereignty!'.

When did it become condescending to point out that not all research is earth shattering that some is in fact pointless?

TheElementsSong

Wow, talk about being sneery towards our universities and researchers!

Did I touch a nerve?
Were you on the earth shattering research team that researched the perfect cup of tea?

We have a huge amount of great researchers, but it doesn't mean that they all research great things.

birdybirdywoofwoof

Vile. You certainly have the moral high ground, Boney, no doubts there.

Its a shame that you couldn't/wouldn't answer my previous post to you, but have brought it up at a later point to point score. As for being vile, its just another popular word on MN.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 17:00

Your post to me was ridiculous, Boney, but your reply to User and TheElementsSong is just nasty and stupid.

NB: Please note that I do not think Leavers are ALL stupid.

TheElementsSong · 26/01/2017 17:03

Did I touch a nerve?

Indeed! I'm so wounded by your role modelling of the entirely non-sneery, delightfully caring and kind behaviour which we should all emulate. I'm sure Wrong would be patting me on the back if I do so!

Were you on the earth shattering research team that researched the perfect cup of tea?

And if I had been involved in such an unworthy endeavour, what would you say to me? How about the toast one? Please, your comments are of prime importance.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/01/2017 17:09

birdybirdywoofwoof

So it was ridiculous to try and get you to think about some remainers have said about the leavers?

TheElementsSong

You class my response as sneery, but you are projecting your feelings on to me, or do you truly believe that all the research done by researchers is worth while?

TheElementsSong · 26/01/2017 17:28

I don't know, Boney, you're the expert on scientific research aren't you? And didn't I just post on how non-sneery, kind and knowledgeable your posts are?

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/01/2017 17:35

TheElementsSong

You are coming across as the epitome of the remainers, how dare someone have an opinion contradictory to yours, and if they do lets belittle them.

TheElementsSong · 26/01/2017 17:38

Please can somebody identify the belittling?

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 17:44

it was ridiculous to try and get you to think about some remainers have said about the leavers?

Nope, you went off on some bizarre rant about how remainers are nasty to leavers on mumsnet.

Incredible. Especially coming from you, whose response to three colleagues, (the first of many) research scientists, lost their jobs (because of brexit)? Unless they're researching cancer, meh, it's no big deal.

And you think that's in any way acceptable, respectful or kind?

You're kidding me.

TheElementsSong · 26/01/2017 17:50

Still waiting for someone to identify the belittling of those who dare to have a different opinion.

Does belittling look a little something like this?

Did I touch a nerve?
Were you on the earth shattering research team that researched the perfect cup of tea?

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/01/2017 17:52

birdybirdywoofwoof

My response was to point out that not all research and to question what the research was.

Or are we not allowed to do that?

Also the researchers haven't lost their jobs they are leaving.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 17:52

Awww, TheElementsSong, you're the "epitome" of the remainers.

Not fair!

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 17:54

Big deal, BoneyBack, big deal. Who likes scientists anyway? And academics. Screw them.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/01/2017 17:55

birdybirdywoofwoof

So no real response then?

birdybirdywoofwoof · 26/01/2017 17:56

What's the question?
