To be frustrated with the teeny tiny crotch sizes on women's knickers?

Having insomniac musings tonight.

Does anyone else find that knickers bought from high street stores must be made for female Borrowers, the crotch part is so bloody tiny! I relented and threw away 4 pairs today that are very uncomfortable. It's impossible to get a sanitary towel on most of them, and I'm sick of scuttling to the loo the pull out my 'front wedgie'. Who are these women with teeny tiny vulvas? I wouldn't dare wear a thong, the crotch parts are only about half an inch thick! Where can I buy a nice firm and ample gusset at the grand old age of 30?

OR

does no one else at all have his problem and I just have a very large vajayjay? Confused

You read my mind Manumission Wink

I was a dedicated follower of British Home Store fashion until they closed. Now like other PP's my go to is Sainsbury's high leg. Comfy, not too grannyised ....yet..... and a pack of 5 for around £6...always wear the black though! ....what's not to like!

Zaphodsotherhead · 19/01/2017 18:03

Another vote for Sloggi maxi briefs. No vpl, they sit below buttocks and above hips and cover the noteable regions quite comfortably, whether on a horse, a bike or walking through the Co Op.

Does your shape make a difference to what pants fit where? I've never got on with those boxer-short style knickers that others swear by, they just bunch up when I walk and shoot up my arse. Bikini style don't seem to cover enough bum - and the less said about thongs the better.

When living in the US I only bought Jockey cotton comfies. seamless and fantastic I don't think they make the cotton ones anymore. Now in the UK I had M&S granny panties that do the job and some Primark briefs with no seams that are OK. Still looking for the elusive extra comfy panties to replace my aging Jockey's

Batteriesallgone · 19/01/2017 18:08

YES I have this problem too only thing that solved it was to go one or two dress sizes up

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 19/01/2017 18:09

Sloggi maxi. That is all. (They're expensive, but they last for years and years and years, so the price per wear must be pennies...).

LizzieMacQueen · 19/01/2017 18:12

White Stuff pants are very well made and don't skimp on the gussets.

WhooooAmI24601 · 19/01/2017 18:15

I used to be able to get away with tiny little pantaloons made from angel hair and scraps of dust. After DS2's 10lb gargantuan head came out my nethers are the size of the Mersey Tunnel and need reinforcing accordingly.

Off to buy some Sloggi pants.

LonelyImSoLonely · 19/01/2017 18:18

I find short style ride up more than normal. High leg ones are perfect for me, but bigger than bikini, but aren't high waisted.

RevEm · 19/01/2017 18:22

If you can't use pants in an emergency as a parachute, I don't buy them. Big pants for me...all the way!

Greenteandchives · 19/01/2017 18:36

Since putting on a bit of a tum after surgery and the festive season, my knickers now roll down from the top to sit underneath the swell. So what with the rolling down from the top and riding up from the bottom, it seems hardly worth bothering.
Reading this thread, it would seem it is time to adjust my style of choice.
Confused

SamineShaw · 19/01/2017 19:01

Greenteaandchives I have the same problem. Big granny knickers are the only way, any midi or bikini ones roll down under what my DH lovingly refers to as my "fanny gut" 😳

Playdoughinthecarpet · 19/01/2017 19:16

I got White Stuff knickers for Christmas, can definitely recommend Smile

TheMockTurtle · 19/01/2017 19:20

I know not, and never will, how underwear can ever be comfortable. I would rather spend the tiny amount of disposable income I have on garments people can see. So I stick to cheapo primark cotton undies that are small to begin with, shrink further after washing, and then become seriously holey.

I'd be so embarrassed if anyone ever seen some of the underwear I have on. Bras included.

LumelaMme · 19/01/2017 19:26

I second comments re John Lewis own. Wish they did more colours than nude and black, though. V dull.

Also, is it just me, or is the double-fabric bit of the gusset set too far back? I assume it's there to soak up leakage/discharge but it never works for me. I don't think I'm a mutant with my bits set too far forward. But who knows...

Maybe M&S should follow Clarks' shoe width fittings and have fanny width fittings on their knickers?

Surely , this is because higher profits can be made out of skimpy knickers. And a lot of designers are men. There are very pretty lace knickers available.
However, I think high heels, are disgusting too, causing misshapen ugly feet, they remind me of Cindrella's sisters in the cartoon. Also, they make your bum and hips look bigger from the back.
As regards hair removal products and make-up, these are multi-million pound markets which make very pretty girls look like painted dolls, and are based on making women feel that there is something wrong with hair on your vagina, I don't see them saying the same thing about men .

You don't see men doing stupid, uncomfortable things to their bodies.

Pretty Polly high leg knickers. 95% cotton. Very comfortable and £3 each.

QueenofLouisiana · 19/01/2017 19:47

Sainsburys Brazilian style. Good bum and crotch sizing. Lacy decor on bum, not itch inducingly near the fanjo. All good.

Chickoletta · 19/01/2017 19:52

I am so, so glad it's not just me!

DieSchottin93 · 19/01/2017 20:04

YANBU! I had to throw out a couple of pairs the other day because they kept riding up in the wrong places Blush Sad They were M&S ones as well, I get all my knickers from there normally but these pairs were weirdly narrow at the front of the gusset IYSWIM Confused

lanalawr · 19/01/2017 20:25

Oh yes! Why has nobody looked at this before!?! I'm an M&S girl. Bought some full briefs one size bigger than normal to accommodate my post-baby belly and kept them going. I don't like them every day because I find them very grannyish but they're good for wearing with leggings to minimise spare tyreage. M&S full lace regalia are the worst I've ever tried though. Itchy cheese wirey useless garment.

With you on the swimwear too. Seriously tempted to buy the shorts style swimsuit next time. Hopefully that'll reduce hair removal efforts too.

cheval · 19/01/2017 21:03

Asda multi-pack of cotton full briefs are great. Cheap, comfy, plenty of cloth in the crutch area, breathable and no vpl that I've noticed! Think £5 for a pack,

Notmuchtosay1 · 19/01/2017 21:22

Ha ha. I can't believe all the votes for shorts. My butt cheeks completely hang out and they disappear completely when I walk along. Just thought maybe I had a fat backside. I personally think thongs aren't very hygienic. They must get sweaty. Another fan of bikini style briefs or big mamma pants. 😂

OhSoggyBiscuit · 19/01/2017 23:09

I always buy the tesco cheapie multipack knickers- and they're useless! Tiny gusset, never last more then a few months without going into holes, elastic is useless and whenever I wear jeans, disappears into my bum and causes a bloody wedgie!! Thinking about buying the shorts style for tight jeans!

peekaboo1 · 19/01/2017 23:25

Yes! This exactly! I thought it was just me. That double fabric bit has definitely become shorter every time I buy new knickers and I know this for sure as there are knickers in my drawer that I have owned for more than half my life that I can compare with

I reckon in a few years they won't even bother making then with the double fabric and I will have to resort to wearing 2 pairs of knickers
