Is MN website insecure again? Anyone else got this?

I'm using MN on my Chromebook, its telling me the site is insecure, as does my iphone when I am using it, I have a logo which is a circle with the letter i inside.

I've goggled the icon, and it states that I am on a insecure site and could be hacked, I've ran my computer protection and I am fine, I have cleared cache.

Its only on MN that I have this logo, everything else I use is secured with the HTTPS green lock.

After the hacking scandal, I'm wondering if MN has applied for their security certificate to make to run the website securely? because I have tried everything else and that's what google is saying that MN is not secure?

Worra can you check if your log in is HTTPS secure, as mine isn't, I've reported the ^ saying its not.

I have got the circle with the small i too, and I was logged out earlier unexpectedly.

PithyWoman · 17/01/2017 22:30

And it's ridiculously slow.

DailyFaily · 17/01/2017 22:30

I clicked on a thread earlier and was redirected a few seconds later to a 'hello apple user, you have been specially selected to win a prize' type page - don't know if that's relevant?

BeyondTheStarryNight · 17/01/2017 22:33

It's been like it since I was redirected to a slightly adult site earlier today. Thread in site stuff, I'm not alone.

WellErrr · 17/01/2017 22:33

I tried the other day on my laptop and it wasn't secure so I didn't log in.

Definitely not secure, tried a few times from a few angles. No 'https' and warnings from my computer. Looked slightly different to the normal login too.

Boogers · 17/01/2017 22:35

MN has been ridiculously slow for the last couple of days. I thought it was just my phone, but it's not.

MNHQ something's not quite right, despite your assurances that it is.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 17/01/2017 22:41

It's been massively slow for me the past few days, I just put it down to by decrepit phone. I've just checked though and it's similar on my iPad, MacBook, iMac and Surface. Not showing as secure on any device. Hmm

BeyondTheStarryNight · 17/01/2017 22:42

Yes it's been slow for a while, but today is a whole other level of slow

whyohwhy000 · 17/01/2017 22:44

Is it because of the shitty adverts?

Boogers · 17/01/2017 22:48

I blame Trump and Brexit. Wink

MN can someone confirm if MN is under another phishing attack, its exactly the same as the last.... from reading comments on here and also on site stuff.

No, you're right. My login is not secure either.

BakeOffBiscuits · 17/01/2017 23:45

Can I ask a stupid question what can happen if it's not secure?

And is it best to log out until it is safe?

PhilODox · 17/01/2017 23:45

It's slow because of the full page lemony snicket ads, surely?

BeyondTheStarryNight · 17/01/2017 23:46

I don't think you need to log out bake, I think it's logging in that could potentially be a problem

BakeOffBiscuits · 17/01/2017 23:48

Oh right thank you Beyond

Are "they" after our passwords again? What do they do with themConfused

PickAChew · 17/01/2017 23:49

It's been slow, however I access the site. My phone keeps timing out on Data. Waste of money!

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/01/2017 23:55

Just had an email welcoming me to Mumsnet. I've been here 10+ years.
Connected? Or just slow and glitchy?

kissingJustForPractice · 18/01/2017 00:02

The login page is https for me, rest of the site is http (wasn't it always?).

Https means that communication between you and the page is encrypted, protecting your login credentials. On the rest of the site I don't think it's required, given that you're reading and posting publicly.

BakeOffBiscuits · 18/01/2017 00:03

That sounds a bit fishy Theimpossiblegirl. Report your post to MNHQ and they should reply to you.

MsJamieFraser · 18/01/2017 00:05

Bake last time the site was attacked, they got personal information from real names, DOB, access to MN inboxes, they also had stolen MN moderators log in details and inbox mails.

They also swatted JustineMN and another poster, in which the attackers reported that these addresses had armed people in them so the police sent the armed response units.

along with a few other things.
