To be absolutely agog at Raquel Welch's appearance

... on Piers Morgan. She's 76 ffs, and doesn't actually look too artificial Shock

OP posts:
pigsDOfly · 13/01/2017 01:01

Don't know that I was being vitriolic Former.

In fact my first post was the complete opposite of vitriolic. She was a very beautiful woman but like a lot of older actresses has decided to go down the plastic surgery route; not sure she's done herself any favours.

Why the attempt to mimic the young, when it just makes a woman look artificial. Who knows, if she'd left her face to age naturally, she might still look beautiful but without the plastic appearance.

Is that such a terrible fate for a woman in her seventies.

38cody · 13/01/2017 01:02

Enough - women shouldn't do this to other women.

KoalaDownUnder · 13/01/2017 01:14

Agreed! Shock

Calling another woman 'revolting' and an 'old bat' (at 49, no less?!)

How utterly disgusting.

parklives · 13/01/2017 01:25

They might be male posters?

pigsDOfly · 13/01/2017 01:25

Which is why I asked CaraAspen if that is the age at which a women is nowadays considered an 'old bat', but she's chosen not to reply.

It's a horrible thing to call someone at any age, but ridiculous when she's 49 and looks like Raquel Welch.

However, I still don't understand why it's such an awful thing for a woman to be allowed to age naturally. Why does our society dismiss older women as irrelevant and no longer beautiful once their youth has faded.

pigsDOfly · 13/01/2017 01:31

Why do some women see their value only in their beauty and youth to such an extent that they feel it necessary to put themselves through painful surgery in order to try to cling to that youth and beauty.

Is this the sort of message we should be giving our daughters.

What about letting your face show you've lived a life.

KoalaDownUnder · 13/01/2017 01:47

They might be male posters?

Might be. Would bet good money they're not, though.

Funnily enough, you don't often see men lashing out viciously at women for daring to look good.

KoalaDownUnder · 13/01/2017 01:48

No, it's not. But hating on other women who've internalised the message is not exactly the way to promote the sisterhood, either.

ClopySow · 13/01/2017 02:06

I came to say the same as koala.

Pack it in. This thread is revolting.

So sad. I remember a friend crying her eyes out when she turned 30 because she was particularly beautiful but felt that when she lost her looks she would lose all her friends. She honestly believed that that was all people liked about her.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 13/01/2017 06:58

She is smoking hot 🌶🌶🌶

SniffyFlukkins · 13/01/2017 07:06

Stop slagging off other women's looks. Ffs.

sleepachu · 13/01/2017 09:04

Do you inhabit the same internet as me?!

Changednamesorry · 13/01/2017 09:07

She looks absolutely fantastic. She looked fantastic on her sons wedding day as well. And there is absolutely thing wrong with that. Some women are horrible about attractive women especially when they get older......it's just pure jealousy.

So what if she looked fabulous in an amazing dress on her son's wedding day. If my MIL looked like that on my wedding day I'd be proud of her/ impressed/be saying stuff like I hope I look that good on my sons' wedding gift days.

Not bitching and moaning that she didn't frump up so I could look good by comparison.

But then I don't hate the way that I look myself.

Imagine if people were coming on here saying "ugh did you see what a fat ugly mess was at her sons' wedding????? What a lack of respect! Couldn't she have lost a few pounds and worn something nice......made the effort out of respect for her son?" They'd be slaughtered!!!

But then. It's acceptable to be nasty and bitchy about beautiful women but not ugly ones........a bit like it's fine to be nasty about slim women in good shape utility it about fat ones.

Playground level meanness from grown women. Pathetic.

Changednamesorry · 13/01/2017 09:08

Apologies for phone typos!

Nellyphants · 13/01/2017 09:09

49 - old bat? Well I'll just go off & hide under a rock so that your lovely young eyes aren't offended by my ancient decrepitude

Changednamesorry · 13/01/2017 09:14

Nelly if the naysayers were lovely they wouldn't need to lay into a more mature woman who looks good. No rock hiding needed......just like Raquel Welch shouldn't be expected to dumb down her appearance! young they might be......lovely no. I know you were joking........but it is kind of true.....
I'm 32 by the way...... and hope I look as cracking as Welch does in the future (one can hope!!!!!!!!)

I'll show my ignorance here by saying although I have heard the name, I have no idea who she is. However if I look half as good as she does at 49 or 76 (with or without surgery) I'll be happy. She looks fab at her sons wedding, so what if she isn't looking like a typical MIL?

lovelearning · 13/01/2017 09:25

kitnkaboodle

Watching Piers Morgan is unreasonable

LittleIda · 13/01/2017 09:26

Barbie's granny. Grin

megletthesecond · 13/01/2017 09:26

Is that RW bitout? Shock

Same surgeon as Wildenstein from the look of it.

diddl · 13/01/2017 09:39

Rachel Welch was going to be the focus of attention whatever she wore, I think.

Even if the dress didn't have the cut outs, there's still the big hat & sunglasses to draw attention!

Floisme · 13/01/2017 09:42

I dislike the anti aging industry intensely but when I see comments like CaraAspen's, I can understand why it's doing so well.

dibbley · 13/01/2017 09:42

She looks amazing in the wedding photo. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that dress.
