NewYearNewNames · 10/01/2017 17:35

Could someone link to the Horse and hound thread I can't find it?

Sparklingbrook · 10/01/2017 17:35

Yes really Carrot. Hmm

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 17:35

Of course it's an issue for the OP, she just knows it's an issue now. Someone on the lastvthread made a good point about insurance being valid in other cars were on the driveway for example.

Also, it's her fucking house!

Sorry, I mean it's Richards's house WinkGrin

ROTFLBSST · 10/01/2017 17:35

moonface Nicolarse is in his 70s from memory of OPs post

TenaciousOne · 10/01/2017 17:35

I'd feel sorry for the Neighbour if he'd asked the OP or her DH shortly after their moving in and didn't also tell another neighbour she could also park there. He's not innocent, jest because his wife requires a carer doesn't mean he is above common decency.

dowhatnow · 10/01/2017 17:35

What does Caroline look like then? You need to ask other neighbours if you don't know. Are you going over tonight to speak to her?

I presume op spends most of her AL/christmas etc, at her country home.

TenaciousOne · 10/01/2017 17:36

Just seriously just not jest. Autocorrect

Manumission · 10/01/2017 17:36

I feel most sorry for the invalid wife with scary screaming and yelling on the doorstep.

gruffaloshmuffalo · 10/01/2017 17:36

I've managed to waste so much time reading this when I should be getting ready for work!

Oh my gosh

Sparklingbrook · 10/01/2017 17:37

His wife must be very unwell for her to need such care.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 17:37

And also find it rather sad that you could live next door to people for 3 years and not know that your neighbours elderly wife has carers for 6 hours a day......

Hmm

Why would the OP know this? Why should she? We all have problems it's not our neighbour's duty to know about it

Lynnm63 · 10/01/2017 17:37

Can someone link to horse and hound please and can someone pm me what onion said that was deleted. I had to feed the kids I'm a better parent than I thought as I wanted to be on here

EweAreHere · 10/01/2017 17:38

New thread new link, please insert now!¬

UnbornMortificado · 10/01/2017 17:38

8 hours is a lot of care needs.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 17:38

I feel most sorry for the invalid wife with scary screaming and yelling on the doorstep.

I feel sorry for people who are written off as 'invalid' by random strangers

Megatherium · 10/01/2017 17:39

Sparkling, I can't see that the fact that Nicholas' wife needs a carer gives him a free pass to offer out his neighbour's land as free parking for those carers or for the other neighbours.

MipMipMip · 10/01/2017 17:39

Sure you've thought of this OP but you really do need to put in writing, preferably signed by both of you, that you do not give permission for the cars or anyone else to park there. Ideally get a witness to see you post it through the for. Otherwise dear old Nick is going to use the note he's written (and probably photographed) as evidence that he had permission.

dowhatnow · 10/01/2017 17:39

Presumably they work long hours so don't know the neighbours too well.

Manumission · 10/01/2017 17:39

I think onion just said hmm a bit, in essence.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 17:39

I also feel sorry for the wife that her husband won't fork out £40 a year so her carers can park easily

MipMipMip · 10/01/2017 17:40

Carers and door. Once I knew how to spell....

Megatherium · 10/01/2017 17:40

I'm glad you're not my neighbour. One day you might need carers or some other help.

I expect that if or when that day arrives and OP needs a parking space for her carers, she will have the courtesy to ask her neighbours rather than just assume their property is hers for the taking.

toptoe · 10/01/2017 17:41

Did I miss the screaming bit?

It's just common courtesy for the neighbour to ask if his wife's carers can park on his neighbours' driveway. Agree it's not the fault of the carer, although I would think they'd be a bit suspicious of the fact that they and a woman across the road did this, then had to move cars before the neighbour got home.

Maybe when he comes round you can ask him to let you think about it for a few days but meantime they need to use the street. But the neighbour with 3 cars is incredibly rude.
