Right OP - as you're off sick and cant go on holiday next week, sounds like its time to get access to your drive sorted with a gate of some sort to stop these cheeky feckers using your drive.

I suggest you get your DH to go speak to Nicolas to explain that while you may have said ok for the carer using the drive, he hasn't okayed it and as man of the household he is now declaring that his house and drive are his castle and any incursions thereon will be seen as a declaration of war... That should sort him out...

Hang on. There were 2 cars yesterday - one belonged to the carer and the other to 'Caroline'. Is 'Caroline' another carer? and is this a different car belonging to her?

An aside re police... someone parked across my drive, I rang the police station, and they sent an officer round. She decided to break into the car, and roll it along, so I could reverse out.

After struggling for a couple of minutes, the teenager over the road came out of the house with a long bit of plastic, and broke into it for us!!! The policewoman thanked him.

Just as we were pushing it out of the way (onto the double yellow lines), the car owner came back, and claimed "the owner of the house" let her park there. But I was the owner of the house...

This was thirty years ago though

He's written the note to have it in writing that you are allowing his carers to park there... he's making it official.

Also the sheer cheek of everything he has done and now cannot be arsed to refer to you in his letter. Richard wasn't the one who kindly let her park there after everything nicholarse has done! How dare he. It even thank you personally for that!

PP is right you need to write back (& keep a copy) stating that there is no agreement for anyone other than members of your household & their guests to use your drive
