Today I recieved a parcel from a nc relative who doesn't seem to have quite got the message. Every year I get a passive aggressive christmas card which I duly ignore. Now I have a box. I've been informed by another relative it's a birthday gift. Do I open it? Send it back? Confused

Towels or a duvet cover?

Bringbackpublicfloggings · 05/01/2017 20:21

Come back op and tell us what's in the box??

DodoRevival · 05/01/2017 20:21

How much was the postage?

QueenMortifauxcado · 05/01/2017 20:23

It's pretty well boxed so no chance of seeing what it is without opening. The return address was handwritten on the other side to make it obvious who it was from so couldn't rewrap without the knowledge it'd been opened. You've almost convinced me not to return it but how the hell do I stop getting passive aggressive mail if I don't?

Erm... write 'not known at this address' on it with your left hand? Grin

ClopySow · 05/01/2017 20:24

Open it!

It's a shawl knitted from the tears of angels.

DodoRevival · 05/01/2017 20:25

Send the next one back "no longer at this address'. This one you have to open.

BakeOffBiscuits · 05/01/2017 20:25

You HAVE to open it or you will never ever know!

I'd open it then give it to charity unless it's £5 notes

pipsqueak25 · 05/01/2017 20:25

you'll get aggressive responses on here if you don't open the damn thing ! Smile can someone open it for you dp /dh/dc/ the cat/ pet hamster /drag someone off the street ?

ClopySow · 05/01/2017 20:25

You don't have to open the passive aggressive mail, just the parcel.

ClopySow · 05/01/2017 20:27

YES! Get the hamster to do it. Please take a series of photos.

Hamster opening could take aaaaaaages and keep us in suspense all night.

DodoRevival · 05/01/2017 20:27

£14.

You don't want to pay that in return postage.

Open it.

NorksAreMessy · 05/01/2017 20:27

Cancel the cheque!
Open the safe!
Look in the shed!

Sorry, wrong thread

QueenMortifauxcado · 05/01/2017 20:27

I'm close with the intermediary relative and not much I can do to stop them updating nc relative so they will likely find out whatever happens.

DodoRevival · 05/01/2017 20:29

Ooh just thought.

  1. open it
  2. tell us what it is
  3. repackage
  4. add label that it was opened by customs
  5. returned
DodoRevival · 05/01/2017 20:29

Returned = return it

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2017 20:29

Is it a poo coloured pouffe by any chance? In which case I have a GREAT idea!

Miserylovescompany2 · 05/01/2017 20:30

I was hoping by the time I'd gotten to page 3 of this thread, you'd of opened it????

Put gloves on and open it, then you aren't acknowledging it with your own naked fingertips?

GrandmaGotRunOverByAReindeer · 05/01/2017 20:30

Open badly, reseal in a big clear plastic bag and write that on that it arrived damaged then return

Or, open charity shop and deny all knowledge

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 05/01/2017 20:32

Accidentally drop it and tear it open
