Aside from the UK, where would you want to live?

Inspired by my other thread.

I'm from Australia, and I would live in the UK in a heartbeat.

Home in Norway for sure! Second, Sweden. England is third on my list, and where I have to live :P

Katedotness1963 · 23/12/2016 09:46

If I can't go home to Scotland I'd chose Canada or New Zealand.

MistressMolecules · 23/12/2016 09:47

I'm in the UK but would love to live in New Zealand, second choice Canada. Unfortunately it really is not likely to happen unless we win the lottery . I know you said aside from the UK but as I am likely stuck here then I would choose to move from England to Scotland.

I live in London and I love it here but we also have a home in a very remote part of Ireland So we have the best of both worlds. London - busy, loads to do and see, anonymous, Ireland - peaceful, beautiful, very friendly. However the weather is pretty crap in both places. I would love a nice (air conditioned) home in a trailer park in Las Vegas where I could open the door everyday and reasonably expect to see sunshine and then head off for a lovely buffet brunch.

lavenirestanous · 23/12/2016 09:54

Scotland, Ireland or France.

MissSueFlay · 23/12/2016 09:54

I'm a Londoner, born & bred. Have seen a lot of the world, but the only place I would move to for an extended period of time to live & work would be Hong Kong. I like my country & city the best of anywhere though, so I would always come back Grin

corythatwas · 23/12/2016 09:56

I lived in Sweden until I married, and was very happy there. Now living in the UK and very happy here, too. So either of those would have been fine- we went where the work was.

DJBaggySmalls · 23/12/2016 09:58

If I won the lottery I'd travel, but I would still want to live in the UK.

Seryph · 23/12/2016 10:02

Grew up in South East England, have made my forever home in Scotland. Our list of other places we would consider are: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Canada and New Zealand.

CallarMorvern · 23/12/2016 10:02

San Diego 😊

Omnomberry · 23/12/2016 10:05

USA I like the thought of living on a ranch in Texas, or used to live in both Japan and China and would happily move back to either one.

JacquesHammer · 23/12/2016 10:05

South of France. Within an hour radius of Toulouse

LeadPipe · 23/12/2016 11:18

Actually South of France would be nice too, add that to my list.

YelloDraw · 23/12/2016 11:41

If I couldn't live in the UK my second choice would be Canada

Starypjs · 23/12/2016 12:37

I live in the uk now but I have lived in Canada and the us and there's nothing like flying back to the uk and seeing the vast patchwork of green fields laid out before me.

BarbarianMum · 23/12/2016 12:52

Norway, Sweden, Germany, Canada, New Zealand.

GandolfBold · 23/12/2016 13:46

Berlin.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 23/12/2016 13:51

Canada or New Zealand. Have lived in Germany and loved it. I think I could also be happy in certain states in the USA, but put off by Trump being president elect...

CaraAspen · 23/12/2016 13:52

Stockholm.

CaraAspen · 23/12/2016 13:55

I am always struck by that too. I am not a very emotional person but it does move me. It makes me feel very connected.

I have a friend who lived on Bora Bora for a couple of years. I've been there, it really is like paradise. She was bored to tears, as how long can you snorkle and admire the same beaches and palm trees?

I love Sweden, and it's a brilliant country to raise a family. But the winters are just so, so long.

I'd love to live in Singapore for a few years, but not indefinitely, the travel back is too long.

lovelearning · 23/12/2016 15:41

Cambodia - Phnom Penh Smile

ghostyslovesheets · 23/12/2016 15:45

Bavaria I lived there in my 20s and I'd go back in a heartbeat

RainbowJack · 23/12/2016 16:39

Canada

JoffreyBaratheon · 23/12/2016 16:39

New Zealand or Australia. If I had my time again I'd have emigrated in my 20s like several of my old schoolfriends did.

I lived in the US for a year - it wasn't fun.
