Seriously are people constantly looking out for a way to be offended Hmm first world problems!

OP posts:
Missswatch · 18/12/2016 17:42

Doesn't quite work like that black. Oppression in the middle east is a major big fucking issue. A gripe about gym equipment? Ok

It's very bizarre you would accuse me of being happy that they are being killed

sleighbellend · 18/12/2016 17:45

Misss, do you care about women in the middle east all the time, or only when you're trying to accuse feminists on message boards of having their priorities skewed?

BeyondIBringYouGoodTidings · 18/12/2016 17:45

I give up. Sorry all, this person is just too ridiculous.

DJBaggySmalls · 18/12/2016 17:45

Missswatch
You still haven't provided any evidence for your claim that feminists ran the white feather campaign.
Or claimed responsibility for the actions of men in history.

DJBaggySmalls · 18/12/2016 17:46

Missswatch
We cant fix the Middle East.
But we can change some things that affect us here at home, if we know about them. Not sure why that a difficult thing to understand.

user1482025636 · 18/12/2016 17:47

No, and Rape Crisis shelters are an absolute undeniable achievement. Can't knock that at all.

amispartacus · 18/12/2016 17:51

user

What are you doing about homeless men then?

Missswatch · 18/12/2016 17:52

We cant fix the Middle East

With that mode of thought women there will forever be oppressed

TaraCarter · 18/12/2016 17:52

Is it just female gym members who can't complain about getting poor value for their direct debits, on account of the Middle East, or is it going to apply to everyone who finds they've paid for an inadequate service?

Curious minds want to know!

BeyondIBringYouGoodTidings · 18/12/2016 17:54

I have a feeling 'sorry - middle east' might trump absolutely everything.
Just a feeling.

brasty · 18/12/2016 17:55

So you ignore the links to what Crisis is saying about homelessness in 2016, and instead link to a newspaper article in 2011 that quotes Crisis, just to justify what you are saying?
Well if you are simply interested in finding things to justify what you think, rather than looking at the facts, there is no point to this. And you are actually just a GF.

amispartacus · 18/12/2016 17:58

The Middle East is a mess. Look at the reaction to Boris Johnson's recent comments. The West has fuck all influence over there unless it really tries. But it can't be bothered. We buy oil and sell them arms. How does anyone influence their behaviour towards minority groups?

The West doesn't have the guts to stand up to them.

But there are a lot of women in the Middle East who are standing up for themselves - and the internet is helping those women empower themselves.

user1482025636 · 18/12/2016 18:00

I help out at my local food bank. It's not much but I'm not very well and have to work mist of the time. I am involved in other social justice groups like 38 degrees however.

I'm not pretending to be a crusader for anything, just saying that the feminist analysis falls down with its rejection of economics. I'm just observing that.

Not even saying that feminists should be concerned with male homelessness (why should they be?); but if people are prepared to make statements like all men have more power than women then they need to be called out on that, because it isn't true. The world is not that simple.

brasty · 18/12/2016 18:01

Feminists are concerned about economics. And you are a GF

amispartacus · 18/12/2016 18:02

I don't think people make those statements. I do think that in general life is easier if you are male compared to if you are female - if all other things are equal

iloveeverykindofcat · 18/12/2016 18:04

TaraCarter · 18/12/2016 18:06

Beyond, well, this is going to make the post-Christmas AIBU threads about getting refunds from high street stores more interesting!

I look forward to seeing Missswatch silencing explanations about customer rights with a peremptory, "get a grip! In the Middle East they don't even have these at all, not even slightly faulty ones!"

Missswatch · 18/12/2016 18:08

Of course Tara, of course

user1482025636 · 18/12/2016 18:10

What is a GF? And you know there are more men on the streets. You see more of them. It's there in your face. You're being disingenuous.

I've just checked about five credible sources and they all say the same. These are the latest government figures.

www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/503015/Rough_Sleeping_Autumn_2015_statistical_release.pdf

You're no different from MRA's who claim that just as many men are battered in the home or raped as women and then pull out one dubious or vague statistic from somewhere when everyone just knows the opposite is true. It's total BS that fits with your ideological prejudices.

BertrandRussell · 18/12/2016 18:10

"if people are prepared to make statements like all men have more power than women then they need to be called out on that, because it isn't true"

I agree. If they did then they should.

amispartacus · 18/12/2016 18:11

And you know there are more men on the streets. You see more of them. It's there in your face. You're being disingenuous

Yes. I am sure there are. Why do you think that is?

Missswatch · 18/12/2016 18:11

What is a GF?

Goady Fucker. Used as a silencing tactic by MNers when they want to shut down a conversation

user1482025636 · 18/12/2016 18:12

Of course there are feminists saying important things about economics. But you rarely hear from them.

iloveeverykindofcat · 18/12/2016 18:12

I'm still waiting on user's evidence for assertion that deep down we're all psychopaths who like torturing and humiliating each other.

iloveeverykindofcat · 18/12/2016 18:13

I hear from them very frequently.
