It's like a fucking war zone here for the past two days with emergency sirens CONSTANTLY.
My head is done in.
Stop it.
Otherwise you can squeal your way here while I go completely in fucking sane.

How inconsiderate of people to need the emergency services in an emergency. Hmm

I don't think they use sirens just for a laugh.

myoriginal3 · 14/12/2016 15:44

Aw. How nice of you to comment.

CockacidalManiac · 14/12/2016 15:45

What a weird OP, and what a weird comment to Geillis

Katy07 · 14/12/2016 15:50

Yes, fancy thinking it was reasonable to put sirens on to get cars out of the way when you have someone dying in the back of your ambulance or a fire burning someone's house down?!
Personally I prefer it when they do use sirens and don't just rely on blue lights - you can't always see the lights in enough time if you're in traffic but you can hear the siren and start getting the hell out of their way.
Some folk are odd Confused

SoupDragon · 14/12/2016 15:52

It's like a fucking war zone

Really? Have there been bombings? Snipers? Machine guns?

BreatheDeep · 14/12/2016 15:53

Random. Sirens are used for a reason. YABU.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/12/2016 15:53

It's like a fucking war zone

Do you live in Aleppo?

loveMyWeeDog · 14/12/2016 15:54

Am I missing the point OP? Are you complaining about emergency services using sirens?Hmm

PJBanana · 14/12/2016 15:54

Meh.

I have no idea what area you're in OP but I get what you mean.

There seem to be a lot around my area lately too, a LOT. We live in a fairly quiet town, so we notice when there are sirens more often than usual. They don't bother me that much though.

YelloDraw · 14/12/2016 15:54

Sirens are used for a reason

It is also really strictly controled about when and how they can use their sirens e.g. they can;t actually just put them on and blast back to base for a laugh

ClarissaDarling · 14/12/2016 15:55

Sirens making noise to indicate the presence of emergency vehicles.. Unless you're meaning the mythical lady type and you're a sailor??

Redglitter · 14/12/2016 15:56

Just be grateful the fucking sirens aren't on for an emergency veh to get to you or your family.

They don't put them on just for a laugh.

dawnc27 · 14/12/2016 15:57

i totally agree!!! i mean its a well know fact that the sirens and lights are used just for the enjoyment of the crew and not at all to let people know that theres an emergency and to get out the way!! some people are really inconsiderate having accidents, fires and they such arent they?

and do they use sirens in war zones? that would be like just saying im not gonna sneak up on you, am just gonna let u know im here so u can easily bomb or shoot the shit out of me....

myoriginal3 · 14/12/2016 16:00

It's constant. Absolutely constant. They're squealing away as I type.
They're doing my head in.

OP posts:
myoriginal3 · 14/12/2016 16:03

I actually googled yesterday to see whether there was a major incident in the area. But nope. Just regular constant crime I guess.
If anyone lives near Stratford, can you please verify the extent of it!

OP posts:
BreatheDeep · 14/12/2016 16:04

Then there must be a lot of people in trouble where you live at the moment. Or one big horrible thing happening that requires a lot of emergency services. Just be glad they are not coming for you and put some headphones on.

myoriginal3 · 14/12/2016 16:05

Seriously, you'd have to be here to understand. It's not a siren every hour or so. It's several sirens all at once ALL THE TIME. How can they have that many vehicles!

OP posts:
123bananas · 14/12/2016 16:05

Get earplugs then.

This time of year there are many elderly and young who need blue lights and sirens into hospital as they are very ill.

The police and fire brigade are also much busier.

Comparing it to a war zone is very distasteful.

Lorelei76 · 14/12/2016 16:09

OP is it mostly police or ambulance?
I live in London and I can always tell when there's a major incident involving police. If it's gone on for ages and it's ambulances I feel awful for the people. But it's interesting because ambulances try not to use sirens if the patient will be distressed, or that's been my experience with about six calls for my olds.

Lorelei76 · 14/12/2016 16:10

Also several at once sounds like they're heading for the scene of possible terrorist incidents tbh.

PeteSwotatoes · 14/12/2016 16:12

Sirens in a warzone? Be grateful you're not in Aleppo or in the back of one of the ambulances you can hear.

When I hear sirens I send a compassionate thought to the patient concerned.

Redglitter · 14/12/2016 16:13

Also several at once sounds like they're heading for the scene of possible terrorist incidents tbh

OP says it's been like this for 2 days so probably unlikely to be a terrorist incident Hmm

Iamtheresurrection · 14/12/2016 16:13

Just a thought, but maybe something has happened.

CockacidalManiac · 14/12/2016 16:14

It's just what you get living in a big city. I don't even hear them anymore.

Topseyt · 14/12/2016 16:15

Have you ever been that emergency needing their help?

If not then be grateful. I have, and it wasn't a whole barrel of laughs.

No sympathy here. You are being very unreasonable and silly. When I am in London or other towns and cities I hear sirens regularly, sometimes constantly somewhere. It is a fact of life.
