Bastardwanking Amazon!

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 22:16

I ordered an item on express delivery at the end of November. When it didn't arrive, I spent three hours on live chat to ACS...they kept disconnecting me, then asking me the same questions over and over again, giving me conflicting info from the previous advisor- the previous info was still on my sodding screen ffs!- and generally pissing about.

They offered me a refund, which- after telling me they weren't allowed to (!) they paid straight into my amazon account. I was able to buy the item again, and it was delivered the next day by courier (not yodel thank fuck!)

Now the other bastarding parcel has turned up.

And Amazon are acting as if I'm making it up! The item is shown as "delivering on..." and I didn't have to sign for it- so there's no proof!

Amazon are refusing to take the other item back unless I pay postage, etc. I don't have a printer to print off the label they provide. And I'm still reeling from the second bout of rude and patronizing contact I had over the live chat thing this afternoon.

AIBU to keep the item here, and, should they pursue it, refuse to send it back until they arrange postage. I KNOW it's only a few £, but it's the principal, no?

Aware this post is long and ranty- sorry.

Ok so your experience of Amazon isn't the same as mine. I've always had fulfilled my Amazon items refunded promptly & can send it to a local amazon affiliated shop for the return (if they ask me to return the item at all). Live Chat with someone there- you will prob get a better response

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 22:30

DailyFail my local collect/pick up point id the store next door to us, and they can't do a thing about it apparantly!

Crunchymum · 13/12/2016 22:30

Don't send it back them? Or are they charging you again?

Cherrysoup · 13/12/2016 22:31

Sent back electrical items yesterday and was refunded when they were scanned at the Post Office. I have Amazon Prime, which does give good service.

Aderyn2016 · 13/12/2016 22:32

You might do better to email them. It gives you a paper trail if there is a dispute later.

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 22:35

Crunchy no, they're not trying to charge me for the item again. Email sounds like a good idea, although I've taken screenshots of the whole chat etc...

Supermagicsmile · 13/12/2016 22:36

What was the item? Just keep it!! It's their error and it's not like you haven't tried to send it back.

LouisvilleLlama · 13/12/2016 22:36

I don't understand Amazon has absorbed the loss of the extra item and told you to keep the extra, what's the issue?

KatieScarlett · 13/12/2016 22:37

My parcel has been with delivery for 12 days now. I live half a mile away from the distribution centre. I've just emailed customer service for an explanation. I'm going to take the refund if I do not like the reply.

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 22:40

It was an android stick. DH said to just keep it, but it didn't feel right.

OP posts:
PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 22:42

Katie ffs! Will they let you pick it up from there?

Mine was "Lost in Transit" apparantly!

OP posts:
braceybracegirl · 13/12/2016 22:42

Just keep it. It's their fault.

80schild · 13/12/2016 22:45

What do you expect from? It's Amazon and they don't give a toss about people.

DecaffCoffeeAndRollupsPlease · 13/12/2016 22:45

Just keep it.

LouisvilleLlama · 13/12/2016 23:04

80s that's a little harsh , they have her back her money at cost to them as they alsolve the loss generally if there's a dispute, after what could have been technical issues on their chat, and are saying she can keep the extra

KnowOneNose · 13/12/2016 23:05

I've always found Amazon live chat really helpful. I would return the item.

Can't you just take a screen shot of the return label and send that to a friend with a printer? There is no need to log on with your Amazon account on another computer. If you can't do a screen shot for some reason then just take a photo.

I've just returned a brand new top end PlayStation that was sent to me instead of the crockery I'd ordered. 😂 I had to go out of my way to return it and the crockery was no longer available so it was a loose/loose situation for me. I suppose I could have kept the PlayStation as it was Amazons fault Hmm but I don't think that's ok. Ive been sent the wrong thing a couple of times before and been told to keep the items free of charge but they wanted the PlayStation back. 🤔

I'm a bit worried some poor kid is going to be very dissapointed on Xmas morning when they open a parcel full of cups and saucers. 😱😱😱

No one is forced to use Amazon.

Sol1dGoldCunt · 13/12/2016 23:09

I think its the run up to Christmas. Normally I find ACS really helpful, but this week I've asked them a very simple question through two CSAs with them asking lots of questions that didn't relate, telling me I was wrong and when I screenshotted promising me they would come back to me within the day and answer but then not bothering.

This was live chat btw rather than email or phone.

YANBU to keep hold of it unless they chase you though. Maybe just keep it unopened for a while though and make sure they don't double charge you.

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 23:11

Thank you. It's all boxed up now, and my friend with a printer is going to help me with the label in the morning. I couldn't have kept it, as I have a piss-takingly huge conscience Xmas Blush

passmethewineplease · 13/12/2016 23:17

OP I told them I didn't have a printer and they said I could justify attach a note inside with my original order number.

I like amazon for the convenience but I'm not fond of their returns process.

I ordered an eyeshadow pallet and it arrived broken, I'm also waiting on a refund for something else from them. Confused

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 23:22

passme I've never had to return, or be refunded for, anything before, as they're usually fab.

SilenceOfTheYams · 13/12/2016 23:41

This happened to a girl I know who bought a mattress for her child's bed on Amazon. First one never turned up, so they replaced it. Low and behold the next day she had two mattresses (and had only paid for one). When she returned the extra mattress they refunded her. So, you know, expect that to happen too.

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 13/12/2016 23:45

Silence really? But they've already refunded me- is it possible they'd try to refund me again? Oh hell...

IamNotDarling · 13/12/2016 23:54

I was threatened with an account closure after returning an item to them that they had sent out twice on their instructions! I'd also had to return damaged items twice.

So three returns, none of which were my fault and they wanted to close my Prime. I wrote back to them the very same day and by close the following day I had a very apologetic email back.

Paper trail is needed with Amazon.

SilenceOfTheYams · 13/12/2016 23:56

I wouldn't put it past them!

Look, if you're not comfortable keeping it, then send it back. If they try to refund you again (bearing in mind it'll end up at some returns processing place with no reference to your ongoing conversations with someone in customer service) then you did all you could. Don't overthink it Smile
