You can't have an emergency poo in m&s

Oh the worst Christmas shopping trip happened today. Ds1 went into town for a nice day out together I haven't been too well recently and have a bit of a jippy tummy. We went into m&s to have a look round and decided to take ds for a drink and make use of their facilities as my tummy was still not great. I came out and an older woman went in after me and immediately came out telling everyone not to go in that cubicle
Totally poo shamed me Blush

Why didn't you shop from home if you have a jippy tummy.

ilovesooty · 10/12/2016 21:04

Is her age relevant?

KlingybunFistelvase · 10/12/2016 21:04

Oh no! What would she prefer, that you shat your pants in the middle of the shop? How rude of her!

Fairybella · 10/12/2016 21:05

Oh no that's awful

Ahickiefromkinickie · 10/12/2016 21:05

She was not BU. I would have run out of there.

But you had to go so you went. Maybe next time say 'I'd give it 5 minutes if I were you...' Smile

wherestheevidence ds and I have really rare time together due to my job and his brother is asd I thought it was getting better but you know how these things are

Mum2jenny · 10/12/2016 21:08

I thought that was the point of having public toilets. If you have to go, you have to go.

Most people's poo does not smell of violets Grin

KlingybunFistelvase · 10/12/2016 21:09

Not all jippy tummies are contagious if that's what you mean Eve. I know someone with Chrones who would never have been able to leave the house if she lived by the "stay away from shops with a jippy tummy" rule.

Ankleswingers · 10/12/2016 21:09

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience but if you knew that you were still not right with your Stomach, then why go out?

It's not nice for you and it certainly isn't nice for some poor sod ( or sods) who may now be incubating a dodgy tummy which you have passed on to them.

It doesn't make sense to me Confused

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 10/12/2016 21:10

On the plus side, you have probably shared your dodgy guts with lots of people (very young, very old, immunity compromised etc etc) but you got a shopping trip - well done ....

RockStonePebble · 10/12/2016 21:10

YABU. I'm sorry you were embarrassed but it isn't very pleasant to enter a cubicle straight after someone who's had a stinky shit. I'd have waited for another one as well TBH.

TheGruffaloMother · 10/12/2016 21:10

Do you know what op stay the fuck away from shops with a jippy tummy. Hth you insensitive human

Hmm And those of us with IBS? Crohn's? Intolerances? Or should we just never leave the house?

KlingybunFistelvase · 10/12/2016 21:11

Exactly gruffalo!

mudandmayhem01 · 10/12/2016 21:11

Wtf, what are toilets for but pissing and shitting, also why were you hanging around after you had finished, hand wash and leg it before the person who used the cubicle next comes out and your paths will never cross again!

arethereanyleftatall · 10/12/2016 21:11

If ever I go in to a public toilet and it stinks, I would walk out too and select another cubicle. I might try to do it subtely though! But did you expect her to stay in there, quiet? I also think you probably shouldn't go to a busy shopping centre if you've got a jippy tummy.

KlingybunFistelvase · 10/12/2016 21:12

And thank you for the correct spelling on crohn's! I misspelt it up thread.

bloodyteenagers · 10/12/2016 21:12

So you knew you weren't fully recovered?

Annoyinglyhappyperson · 10/12/2016 21:12

It's due to an illness not a contagious type but thanks for putting me in my place eve Hmm

"Jippy tummy" in what way? A bug or an on going health condition like IBS? If it's a bug/virus thing then you are being unreasonable to wander around in public putting other people at serious risk of illness.

Either way the woman was rude, I hope she never finds herself in your position because you must have been mortified. I hope you are feeling better soon.

TheGruffaloMother · 10/12/2016 21:14

No problem Klingy...I hadn't actually seen your post yet!

What's with this assumption that all digestive issues are contagious?!

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 10/12/2016 21:14

And yes - Crohns,IBS and allergies are exactly the same as potentially having a stomach bug which can be transmitted to others Hmm

I don't think people have the issue with the fact that the OP had a shit, but if she had something contagious then she's selfish

Thinkingblonde · 10/12/2016 21:14

What if you get caught short like I often do due to IBS, am I supposed to stay at home on the off chance I might contaminate the loo with noxious smells? Do other people shit glitter and piss channel no 5?
She was incredibly rude op.

SukeyTakeItOffAgain · 10/12/2016 21:14

Public toilets are for pooing peeing in. It's a shame that woman didn't have better manners.
