I remember Sensations being released. All of the flavours/types were on sale in equal measure and I fell in love with the popadom kind.

Then of course some flavours proved more popular (I'm looking at you Thai Sweet Chilli) and some disappeared off shelves.

For the first time in about a decade I've found my faves in Tesco. Get inside me Lime & Coriander Chutney poppadoms!

What usual crisps do like/remember?

M&S used to do a Smoked Salmon and Pepper ridged crisp that were divine. I miss those.

Manomassa are pretty great though. As are a Seabrooks Ready Salted.

This thread is inspiring me to branch out more. I think my savoury snack selection has become a bit stale (excuse the pun)

knick knacks or munster munch or space invaders!!! Can't get enough of the rubbish ones

Piffpaffpoff · 10/12/2016 22:20

Yes yes yes to the PP's who said the posh co-op sea salt and Chardonnay vinegar. They are almost too salty/vinegary, which is what makes them so brilliant. I got seriously addicted to these this year, I've gone cold turkey recently but I'll get some in for Christmas for sure!!!

And at the other end of the scale, Tesco own brand bacon rasher thingys.

Paulat2112 · 10/12/2016 22:22

Prawn cocktail wotsits are the best :)

Paulat2112 · 10/12/2016 22:22

Rather were the best :(

ItsASunnyDay · 10/12/2016 22:26

Scampi and lemon nik naks. Brannigans ham and mustard. Also Tesco goats cheese and chilli jam. I need crisps now!!

blamethecat · 10/12/2016 22:27

Bacon fries or as they are known here The Queens Frazzles Grin the mark of good pub is if they stock them.

BertieBotts · 10/12/2016 22:29

Those Puff ones - there was a particular play structure that you found in the beer garden of the very occasional pub which was shaped like a tree and you could see all the fibres in the plastic. It always smelled exactly like those crisps.

I like fish n chips. I'm so happy they brought them back Grin I have to get people to send them over to me.

We have weird flavoured crisps in Germany but not many of the posh kind, sadly. The nicest ones I've had here recently have been Flammkuchen flavour.

Mypurplecaravan · 10/12/2016 22:30

Pickled onion monster munch. I don't know why but I can gorge myself silly on them

Walkers cheese and onion for day to day

Sensations cheddar and balsamic vinegar mmmmm

Mini cheddar- the crunch. The cheesy saltiness. Mmmmm mmmmm mmm

ragdoll700 · 10/12/2016 22:32

lozengeoflove Im in the republic and LadyLothian yes rancheros are still available here love them too

LightDrizzle · 10/12/2016 22:33

Thank you! At last! A shout out for Walkers Cheese & Onion, my desert island crisp, with pickled onion Monster Munch a poor second.

I buy wanky crisps for pre-dinner nibbles for guests, but you can't beat Walkers C&O.

user1481408369 · 10/12/2016 22:39

oh dear where to start on picking a favourite packet of crisps, so I have more than one here goes.... salt and vinegar chipsticks, monster munch pickled onion, frazzles, scampi nik naks, and just recently pringles tortillas nacho cheese flavour, I could go on but I will stop there lol anyone agree?

DollyDora · 10/12/2016 22:47

Real crisps Roast ox flavour. Or cheese and onion square crisps in a sarnie

Loyly · 10/12/2016 22:48

Can't chose between my two ultimate favourites:

M&S Langoustine with Dill & Lemon

Asda Sea Salt and Black Pepper

ladylunchalot1 · 10/12/2016 22:49

Tudor cheese n onion mmmmmmm

Zoflorabore · 10/12/2016 22:52

BBQ bugles!! Bloody gorgeous or Brannigans roast beef and mustard.

Not a major fan of crisps but those are my faves.

Tequilamockinbird · 10/12/2016 22:52

Bring back Tudor crisps. Whatever happened to them?

I'd climb a mountain for a canny bag of Tudor

Crisp advent calendar! Genius! I would buy one. Gap in the market there.

Crisps - has to be Seabrooks ridge cut cheese and onion, especially the packs that have loads of flavouring in.
Closely followed by Nice n' Spicy Nik Naks. Yum.

Those manchego and green olive Manomassa tortillas are delish, I could easily eat the whole bag.

Tequilamockinbird · 10/12/2016 22:55

I remember hedgehog flavour crisps, they were delicious.

fizzydizzy · 10/12/2016 22:56

My newly discovered favourite are Walkers Crispy Crackers cheese flavour. Even more addictive that the ritz ones!

They are the closest thing I've had to the long discontinued deltas in M&S (Tesco used to do their own brand potato triangles but they disappeared too!)

ladylunchalot1 · 10/12/2016 22:57

Tequila.. you from the north like me?? A canny bag of Tudor I love it x

talkshowhost97 · 10/12/2016 22:58

I miss those potato triangle crisps that were a party buffet staple in our house in the 80s. Deltas? They were amazing and as a student I would munch my way through whole (family sized) bags at a time. Haven't seen them anywhere in years, probably not since early-mid 2000s.

Tequilamockinbird · 10/12/2016 23:03

ladylunch yup. In fact the corner shop in the Tudor advert was at the top of my DGM's street.
