to think these crisps are the best

I remember Sensations being released. All of the flavours/types were on sale in equal measure and I fell in love with the popadom kind.

Then of course some flavours proved more popular (I'm looking at you Thai Sweet Chilli) and some disappeared off shelves.

For the first time in about a decade I've found my faves in Tesco. Get inside me Lime & Coriander Chutney poppadoms!

What usual crisps do like/remember?

Has to be seabrooks wasabi...incredible

queenofthebucket · 10/12/2016 22:04

Are sea brooks regional? I've never heard of them

PickAChew · 10/12/2016 22:06

I liked those phileas fogg things, though they sometimes tasted a little sickly with the dried garlic powder.

Incidentally, Medomsley Road, Consett, might just be the most disappointing destination on Earth.

DramaInPyjamas · 10/12/2016 22:06

Brannigans Roast Beef & Mustard for me. They disappeared for years, but are in all the bargain shops now.

Aldi do an Ale & Cheese crisp which I also love.

I love crisps so much ❤️

TaintForTheLikesOfWe · 10/12/2016 22:06

Tayto any flavour. Best crisps I have ever tasted.

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 22:07

LadyLothian · 10/12/2016 22:07

I think Rancheros are still available in the Republic of Ireland...

I love crisps, give me savoury over sweet any day of the week Wink

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 22:07

Where are you queen?

PickAChew · 10/12/2016 22:09

Queen, they started off as a Yorkshire thing - specifically sheffield, but I remember having them in Hull in the early 80s. We missed them for a few years, when we moved to the midlands, until they caught up with us, but they're definitely national, these days.

They're nice because they're made with really good, flavoursome, potatoes, even if they're a bit irregular in size and sometimes, even, a bit burnt!

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 22:09

OMG does anyone remember salt and vinegar Puffs?

Those were the shit.

one of the best things about ds being single and kids at uni = crisps for dinner not sharing bag

PointlessUsername · 10/12/2016 22:10

Lime doritos are nice too.

Bacon frazzles are my faves.

queenofthebucket · 10/12/2016 22:10

in London

PickAChew · 10/12/2016 22:10

Those cheese and ale crisps from Aldi are top notch. Not had them for a while.

LavenderRains · 10/12/2016 22:11

I used to love Bovril crisps after swimming when I was little (70's) I think they were smiths.

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 22:11

Sea brooks are definitely in London - keep an eye out in old pubs! Is where I tend to see them.

Roysters are dirty but delicious. Fiddlers are the Northern equivalent of Pipers and I have to buy them when I see them so they stay in business!

PickAChew · 10/12/2016 22:12

And going back to the early 80s, again, but to love tandoori flavour Tudor crisps.

glasshalfsomething · 10/12/2016 22:13

Never tried the M&S Spring Onion ones, but the Golden Wonder Spring Onion ones are my all time #1 crisp. There's a small shop near my parents which seems to be the only stockist left...

QueenCuntyFlippers · 10/12/2016 22:13

Those Walkers Cheese, cucumber and salad cream are LUSH
As are the prosecco crisps from Marksies

queenofthebucket · 10/12/2016 22:14

Do those fish 'n' chip biscuit things count? Love them in pickled onion flavour

MargotMoon · 10/12/2016 22:14

You can get Roysters T-bone steak in Poundworld.

Wish I still lived in London (Cricklewood) where you could get proper Irish Taytos (cheese and onion, obv)

I remember those poppudom Sensations, OP - definitely going to search some out!

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 22:14

The fish and chips definitely count. They are delicious.
