AIBU to think it's silly that DS can't wear these to nursery?

DS had some leggings on today - they're gorgeous! They have monsters on (not scary) but apparently he isn't allowed to wear them? They don't have a uniform, but apparently a Mum said that they scared her daughter Confused WTAF.

southofmaui if you are my sister (see uothread) please buy these leggings for your nephew for Christmas

GracyEvans · 29/11/2016 23:06

The ones my son wear are definitely leggings, would you not let him go out in them?

I want toddler leggings that don't cost a bloody fortune

GracyEvans · 29/11/2016 23:10

Momma, they're normally around £10-£15 where you can usually pick the fabric as they are from Etsy, but they're so worth it! The quality is amazing.

I'll have to have a look. He has jeans which I like as they're soft but he struggles to climb the stairs in them

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 29/11/2016 23:12

NRTFT but I need those leggings!!

GracyEvans · 29/11/2016 23:13

Momma, are they jeggings? Some jeggings look amazing. My son has some which I meant for girls, but they fit really nicely and look great and are comfy.

Omg I can't believe what I'm reading.
OP, you put your little one in whatever leggings you want and he feels comfortable in.

MommaGee · 29/11/2016 23:16

No gracy just toddler jeans, bit restrictive round the crotch with ally etc so leggings work much better AND they wind up my sister so bonus!

MommaGee · 29/11/2016 23:18

Lidl currently have lovely thick boy tights IP to 24 months

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 29/11/2016 23:23

Careful OP your son might catch the gay if he wears leggings.

I don't have sons (but may do in 7 weeks when no 2 lands) just a DD, and in winter I put tights on under her leggings for extra warmth. I just assumed people did the same with boys (as would I) but I'm now a bit Confused that people think it's weird they wear leggings!

GracyEvans · 29/11/2016 23:24

Momma, I've just been looking. There's a shop on EBay that sell leggings like the Ines from Etsy but they're made in Hong Kong, so they're only £2.50 so probably not the best idea...

JellyBelli · 29/11/2016 23:29

I love those. Do they have other colours?

sparklewater · 29/11/2016 23:30

I have OPs leggings in bright yellow for my DS! They were about £3 from eBay though :)

I much prefer leggings on DS - he can move and climb much easier in them than he can in stiff bulky jeans. And he's quite slim so joggers etc fall off him.

Am really surprised people think toddler boys look silly in leggings - takes all sorts I guess!

EffieIsATrinket · 29/11/2016 23:31

Have no issue with boys wearing legging, tights, anything really but it seems mean not to make a small adjustment to make someone else's life (indeed several people's) a little easier especially where a child is involved. Many young children have irrational fears which they usually grow out of irrespective of exposure to the trigger or not. If the nursery workers are having to deal with an anxious, avoidant child it will probably impact negatively on all the children in terms of time, attention and general availability.

GracyEvans · 29/11/2016 23:35

Where have I said that I won't adjust? I think I probably said I would on the first page Confused

Sorry I missed that. Just thought WTAF was a bit mean.

MommaGee · 29/11/2016 23:50

Might just have to raid his Child Benefit haha

Love Hareem pants too

Meadows76 · 30/11/2016 00:14

Aside from the fact that they look like pyjamas what's so difficult saving them for bedtime non nursery days? There is a child who has a genuine fear. Whether or not you, me or the rest of the people in this thread find them scary is irrelevant. Someone IS scared of them, why wouldn't you be respectful and just put your child in something else?

GracyEvans · 30/11/2016 00:24

Meadows, have you even read the thread? Confused

Love leggings on boys. Keeps their socks on so much better than trousers and their little legs all lovely and warm. Great for skinny boys whose trousers fall down. Gutted I missed the discount code! H and m, la Redoute and Zara often do reasonably priced boys ones if anyone's looking and Sainsburys were doing what they called "long johns" recently for £3.

MommaGee · 30/11/2016 00:34

We have the sainsburys boy tights with the cars on, Dec great under his jeans in this weatber
