It is possible. It is.

Would be nice ... but I won't hold my breath.

It would also be nice if a few more yogurt and dessert manufacturers realised that there are alternatives to gelatine as well!

It would be nice. I nearly boaked(that is a new mumsnet word!) when I noticed pork gelatine in creme fraiche recently.

gothicmama · 15/02/2007 16:45

Health food gummy crap is like sooo much more expensive

eenybeeny · 15/02/2007 16:46

I am upset so many frozen weight watchers desserts have gelatine in them, I want to eat them and I cant!

WigWamBam · 15/02/2007 16:47

It's not our children I'm worried about, Califrau

I want to be able to eat non-healthfood gummy crap without eating pig!

This was in the news last year - I don't know what happened about it Halal Haribos for Muslim children

Whoooosh · 15/02/2007 16:57

Oh my God-a fellow Bovril lover

On toast or in a cup?

WigWamBam · 15/02/2007 16:59

I thought you might say that, cod ... in fact I'm surprised that the word Freaks doesn't appear somewhere in your post

Isn't Bovril veggie these days, Cali? I thought there was a bit of a hoo-har about it a while ago because they took the meat out of it.

Or have they put the horse back in now?

KathyMCMLXXII · 15/02/2007 17:00

I bet it's not even organic outdoor-reared pork, either.

Monkeytrousers · 15/02/2007 17:01

Bovril is veggie yes!

OP posts:
PeachyClairColouredRoses · 15/02/2007 17:01

No. PLease don't make them.

I'll tell you why.

There's loads of things on the amrket that are pork free BUT barely anything that is gluten free,a nd Haribo sweetas are- and hallelujah for that!

if they take the pork out.... it might be the thing that means the gluten goes in.....

Monkeytrousers · 15/02/2007 17:01

Can you get posh gummy crap? Does it taste nice?

OP posts:
Monkeytrousers · 15/02/2007 17:04

as long AS THey're tasty, who cares

nearlyfourbob · 15/02/2007 17:31

As a gluten free person I say leave the pork in (at least they are labelling it correctly) and keep gluten out.

me23 · 15/02/2007 17:33

theysell halal haribos that contain beef geletine instead so I still cant have them am veggie.

Whoooosh · 15/02/2007 17:38

Agree Califrau-and have now got dd hooked.

fuzzywuzzy · 15/02/2007 17:46

I've bought veggie jelly sweets from holland and barratt, tastes fine to me (who's never tasted a haribo sweet so can't actually compare).
