Farted on bus loudly, rude comments? AIBU to feel this was unnecessary?

This is an embarrassing post. On a bus (not crowded) yesterday. I had a dodgy stomach that appeared during the morning with loud farts.

Unfortunately during part of the journey I let off a loud and a bit smelly fart. Cue two women nearby one saying loudly "that's disgusting, who would smell like that, who would do that, dirty bitch" with a pointed look at me and looking away. I got off the bus feeling a bit embarrassed went to a toilet in a department store, went to the toilet and cleaned myself up (it wasn't as bad as I thought it was) got hand sanitizer and took some anti-diarrhoea pills.

AIBU to think this one woman was really rude or am I being over sensitive? It was one of those routemaster buses she said something about opening the windows but they don't have windows... That's not my fault and I had no idea my stomach was so bad.

Thanks

super i feel sorry that you are getting so much rubbish over this, some of these stupid people on here today. would you all be up in arms if a baby filled it's nappy next to you ? mmm, probably not, some of these comments are bullying op.

OutragedKoala · 20/11/2016 12:06

Stop obsessing over her calling you a name. You stank the bus out. Not your fault, but probably not an outrageous reaction from a stranger. Get a grip of yourself and move on. Don't embarrass yourself more by trolling on MN

Hmmm.

SuperFlyHigh · 20/11/2016 12:07

Outraged I'm no troll search my history.

But I was offended by this... Call me sensitive.

I have moved on. But like to think I wouldn't be as rude as this woman was.

I don't think it's bullying to wonder why someone would post this stuff in the first place.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 20/11/2016 12:08

If you weren't next to them that would have been one hell of a fart for the smell to reach them at full stench!

Tbh I think expecting people to say nothing in those circumstances is a tad unreasonable.

I'm guessing this is unlikely to have really happened

DonaldStott · 20/11/2016 12:08

Yes but 'brat' the one who said the rhyme, did the crime

SuperFlyHigh · 20/11/2016 12:08

ilovesooty I'm posting re her comments not my bodily functions!!

Bold fail Blush

hollyatchristmas · 20/11/2016 12:08

yeh I think it's obvious you'd be upset by someone calling you a dirty bitch.

Saucery · 20/11/2016 12:09

Calling you a dirty bitch was rude and pointless. If you had meant to fart loudly and smellily on purpose she gave you a reaction, if you didn't then she is just making an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation worse. So what's the point of making any remark at all? (I know you didn't mean to fart btw)

BratFarrarsPony · 20/11/2016 12:09

Grin donald..

Waanderlust · 20/11/2016 12:09

So if you'd felt up to it you would have hit her? Hmm

Can't really be helped what you did but it was disgusting.

You said yourself it smelt bad and you'll never see them again so get over it.

WankingMonkey · 20/11/2016 12:10

I probably wouldn't have said anything, but I would be silently judging if the smell was as bad as it sounds. I would have been too busy trying to calm down the kids who find farts oh so hilarious at the moment and would have been in hysterics at a loud fart in a public place.

Twogoats · 20/11/2016 12:10

Yuck! I would have moved away and covered my nose!

Not acceptable at all. You were rude!

BadLad · 20/11/2016 12:10

Fuck 'em. Better out than in. It is a foolish man that puts good manners before good health. They'll have their own turn at letting one go at an embarrassing moment in future. Next time just laugh it off with something inane like "when you gotta go, you gotta go".

Saucery · 20/11/2016 12:10

And SuperFlyHigh has been around a while, I think. Not everyone who posts about farts is automatically the Poo Troll Hmm

SuperFlyHigh · 20/11/2016 12:11

Saucery I would never or would try to hold it in when in public eg transport, this occasion i couldn't do so...

I was mortified but also feeling unwell or I may have apologised.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 20/11/2016 12:11

There was no need for them to insult you OP.

Personally I would have held my breath and scarpered upstairs/downstairs quickly, before I was sick.

But I certainly wouldn't have hurled an insult.

SuperFlyHigh · 20/11/2016 12:11

Waander maybe not hit her but called her out for calling me a dirty bitch. That is totally unacceptable.

For those who know London routemasters it's the seats at back of bus near the rear entry..

They have 2 facing seats (double seats so 4) then seats just below. I was on the one below. Facing front. They were at back rear facing seats nearest the exit to the back. So not near. But near enough I suppose.

So WellErr are you happy for random strangers to insult you with rude names on a bus for something which although it's a bit rude, is something the other person could not help?

I suppose I should have apologised and prostrated myself on the floor at her feet for daring to feel sick... Hmm
