Farted on bus loudly, rude comments? AIBU to feel this was unnecessary?

This is an embarrassing post. On a bus (not crowded) yesterday. I had a dodgy stomach that appeared during the morning with loud farts.

Unfortunately during part of the journey I let off a loud and a bit smelly fart. Cue two women nearby one saying loudly "that's disgusting, who would smell like that, who would do that, dirty bitch" with a pointed look at me and looking away. I got off the bus feeling a bit embarrassed went to a toilet in a department store, went to the toilet and cleaned myself up (it wasn't as bad as I thought it was) got hand sanitizer and took some anti-diarrhoea pills.

AIBU to think this one woman was really rude or am I being over sensitive? It was one of those routemaster buses she said something about opening the windows but they don't have windows... That's not my fault and I had no idea my stomach was so bad.

Thanks

A fart is a fart - those women need to get a grip as do the posters who were rude to you.

ProseccoBitch · 21/11/2016 19:52

YABU for saying you'd have 'lamped her one' if you'd felt better!!

Mammylamb · 21/11/2016 19:57

Sounds like the women need to grow up (from reading this thread, some others need to grow up too). It must have been embarrassing enough without those comments

Luvwales74 · 21/11/2016 20:16

showme my mum was ill on a train once. An ambulance was called and the train was taken out of service. No one called her a dirty bitch thankfully.

Crowdblundering · 21/11/2016 20:35

So you basically shat yourself on a bus then if that wasn't embarrassing enough you then posted on a public forum about it?

ProseccoBitch that comment was said in the heat of the moment but if someone called me a rude name (for no other reason) depending on my mood that morning I may just rip them one (verbally) or ignore. London commuting!

Geez there are some nasty people on this thread - the OP was ill, she didn't intentionally sit there breaking wind!

Super, I hope you feel better now Flowers

SuperFlyHigh · 21/11/2016 20:55

Lulu and not a single fuck was given about your comment...

I am charming actually each and every day! Grin

You sound charming OP. I wouldn't have said it to you but I would have probably thought you were pretty disgusting

Get a grip you fucking drama llama. One disgusting fart does not make a person themselves disgusting. But I'm sure your farts smell of Charlie red.

AVirginLitTheCandle · 21/11/2016 21:10

What exactly is disgusting about farts? Surely it's just a bodily function like coughing or sneezing.

AVirginLitTheCandle · 21/11/2016 21:11

I would have probably thought you were pretty disgusting.

Seriously? She didn't do it on purpose.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/11/2016 21:26

Coughing doesn't normally provide an obnoxious smell.

Crowdblundering · 21/11/2016 21:30

A strangers guff in a confined space is pretty fucking disgusting - however the op was genuinely ill but maybe the bus journey was misguided.

Bambooshoots14 · 21/11/2016 21:36

Despite mnhq comment reported again given random threads created today. No mention of being 39 weeks pregnant in op?!

AVirginLitTheCandle · 21/11/2016 21:52

Put a peg on your nose.

bittorrent123 · 21/11/2016 22:12

There are some precious snowflakes on here who have probably never even been for a poo!

BadLad · 21/11/2016 22:34

we have all had diarrhoea and shitting ourselves episodes

I don't think you are being unreasonable, but I don't think this is true. I certainly haven't had a shitting myself episode since I was a kid.

SuperFlyHigh · 21/11/2016 22:36

peardropz I bet your farts smell of Charlie red I like that comment!

There are other comments in books etc people's shit not smelling of roses etc... Wish some people would realise that.

Lucky really that these haters are born and living in 21st century because etiquette and air fresheners were in their infancy in years gone by.

However saying that I think I'll write to Sadiq Khan and tfl and request they put in Windows in route masters and/or automatic air fresheners. It'll make my council tax increase probably (I live in london) but hey I don't mind, anything to make my fellow passengers lives easier and lily of the valley scented!

BadLad you're very lucky then! Like I explained I often pre empt it... But sometimes at home etc it happens.

I am 41 years old and have lived a colourful life.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me.

lovelyleftrubbishright · 21/11/2016 22:50

Look at all these people with bumholes so tight they'd be able to hold in a fart if they were unwell!

RoseGoldHippie · 21/11/2016 23:04

The done thing in this situation OP would have been to look in disgust back at her as if you though she did it!

She shouldn't have called you a dirty bitch, How utterly rediculous! It's not like you were stumbling around pissed and then shat yourself as a result! Then that comment may have been a little more justified!

Just ignore and be greatful you were in London so will probably never see the stupid woman again!

SuperFlyHigh · 21/11/2016 23:12

Exactly Rosegold if I was pissed and puked on the bus it'd be a bit different...

Just makes me laugh the haters here I seriously hope none of you have the misfortune to be taken ill when out and about with whatever ailment.

You could apply this anywhere!

My mum gets bad nosebleeds sometimes I'd hate for her to get abuse if she travels up to London like she sometimes does on public transport has a nosebleed and then got abuse. Not happened but...
