Farted on bus loudly, rude comments? AIBU to feel this was unnecessary?

This is an embarrassing post. On a bus (not crowded) yesterday. I had a dodgy stomach that appeared during the morning with loud farts.

Unfortunately during part of the journey I let off a loud and a bit smelly fart. Cue two women nearby one saying loudly "that's disgusting, who would smell like that, who would do that, dirty bitch" with a pointed look at me and looking away. I got off the bus feeling a bit embarrassed went to a toilet in a department store, went to the toilet and cleaned myself up (it wasn't as bad as I thought it was) got hand sanitizer and took some anti-diarrhoea pills.

AIBU to think this one woman was really rude or am I being over sensitive? It was one of those routemaster buses she said something about opening the windows but they don't have windows... That's not my fault and I had no idea my stomach was so bad.

Thanks

Ah just own it OP - her shits obviously smell like roses Grin

There's nothing more satisfying than a good fart anyway! This situation hasn't happened to me but if it ever does - so what? The people are only going to be trapped for a few minutes max!

BadLad you're very lucky then! Like I explained I often pre empt it... But sometimes at home etc it happens

Don't get me wrong - if an adult who didn't seem drunk shit themselves in public, I'd assume they had a medical problem. So I'd just move away, quietly and with little fuss, partly for the sake of my nose and partly to avoid making any more of a spectacle of them, and to allow them as much privacy as possible in cleaning up or whatever.

I disagree that it happens to everyone.

I'm buggered if I'm going to hold farts in, though. I'm not putting sensitivities before health. If I can move away from people I will, but on a crowded bus, its tough.

Ahh I remember primary school answering a question dropping my pencil, leaning down to pick up my pencil and farting Blush and in my teens my friends grandparents picking us up but I had an upset stomach told my friend to meet me outside and destroyed the toilets in the cinema, for 30 minutes whilst they waited BlushBlush

FWIW I think it's rude to call someone a dirty bitch BUT unless they sat there taking it like an absolute champ I feel we'd have a thread anyway if they moved for example
