To hate Children in Need?

I probably am because it raises money for such good causes, but I find the whole television spectical really toe curlingly awful to watch.Every year it's the same old, the BBC newsreaders doing an 'hilarious' song and dance skit, the cast of Eastenders having a sing song and an endless stream of insincere celebrities who are only taking part to make themselves look good.

I really want to like it, but just can't. On the other hand I love Comic Relief and look foreward to that. CiN just leaves me cold.

You don't have to watch it. There are lots of channels.
It raises money for charity.
Worry about something important.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't all millionaires asking you to dig deep and give what you can. I also hate the auction of Things Money Can't Buy on Radio 2. Us plebs have to listen to the lovely things the ultra-rich can afford to do for a whole week and hear everyone gushing about how generous they are.

I'm all for charity, but I do think they take the piss a bit.

I don't like it either.

Ive donated and bought t shirts for the kids to wear to school today but i wont be watching.

Nobody forces anyone to watch or listen to any of it.

It's a once a year event. It raises a lot of money. I'm sure all those millionaires are also donating cash as well as time. It's very much optional - on two channels over the evening, out of hundreds available.

Turn over or do something else.

I wouldn't want it to end - it raises too much money for good courses.

I just don't listen or watch the boys I don't want to.

I never watch it and feel omg whenever it's this time of year. I love children BUT was disgusted when I learnt a couple of years ago that CIN had loads of dosh in the bank!

Never, and no donations either due to the waste and overhead involved.

Only bit of interest is doctor who and that will be online in a day or so without having to put up with a shriekfest.

I will avoid it as always.

I have donated but won't be watching. I do get irritated about the Chris Evans Radio 2 car fest etc all being for the wealthy and not the general public. Why broadcast it nationwide when its not for us plebs?

YANBU. We had a cake sale at work which was nice. But I feel the same about wealthy people asking (generally) less wealthy people to donate

Sickening. I have donated and the cause is brilliant. But I can't bear it when singers appear and sing their new song. A plug, on a charity show. Self serving.

I loathe it. That is one of the huge pluses of no longer being married to XH - who insisted on watching it from start to finish, clapping and laughing and generally being utterly embarrassing about it all.
