Killing is wrong however I can't say if my husband had the acesss to guns they do in the us he wouldn't do the same I saw how he reacted when our 16 year old was attacked last he grabbed a hammer and went looking for the guys

I couldn't say with all honesty if one of our daughters was sexually abused he wouldn't kill the and I am ashamed to say I might let him 😳🙁

I just being honest he did need to be punished but I think 40 years since to long if that's not provacation don't know what is

I just don't think you would be thinking clearly of something like that happened

I can sympathize with people wanting to inflict pain or worse on abusers to a large extent, but the guy in the OP sounds like a nutjob to me.

DH wouldn't do that.

I would.

Killing is illegal, it isn't always wrong IMO. Laws exist for people like me. There are lots of things I would do that I don't - not out of any moral feeling of "wrongness" but because I don't wish to be punished.

So I would weigh up the "reward" (the satisfaction of revenge) against the "risk" (getting caught/making it worse for my child because I had to go to prison) and then make a decision.

DH might WANT to, but at his heart he is a gentle soul. Me, not so much. I would also as a woman be in a better place as far as possible punishment goes.

It's all very well saying 'leave it to the justice system' but it's a farce. The sentence that guy got for what he did was a joke, it's no wonder the father didn't think justice had been done 😕

When you consider the sentences given to child molesters and sexual predators... You can understand why someone would take matters into their own hands!

40yrs for removing one from the earth is far too long. What the father did was illegal....but I wouldn't say wrong!
His child will live with the scars of sexual abuse for the remainder of her life. I know personally I would have loved to see my abuser killed! It's not an easy burden to live with...especially when they are people in your family step-dad fucking piece of shite!

In the legal process there is one person who is ingored.. the victim.

The victim has no rights, is not heard and everything focuses on the (alledged) criminal. After sentencing the criminal has rights, even in jail. Perhaps the father feels he was let down by the system and sought to redress the deficit. Thus his greatest crime was to administer his understanding of justice.

What sentance is normally handed down in the case of murder?

Considering baby p's mum served 5 years, I think 40 for this man is ludicrous.

The 40 years is for an attempted murder and a pre meditated 10 years after the fact, I could understand losing it at the time of discovery but not 10 years later

And let's not ignore that be tried to kill someone else on the way to the murder, shooting up a petrol station and restaurant in the process. Amazing that more weren't killed.
