To never wash again

Am I being unreasonable to never wash my hair again. Does anyone else not wash their hair?

This thread demonstrates that people get used to smells. If you dunt wash your hair for years you probably think it doesn't smell. It does.

If you love your cat and have had it around for a while you probably think it doesn't smell. It does. I can smell cat as soon as I walk into a cat owners house. Sometimes just when talking to a cat owner.

Same as smokers or non deodorant users.

Same here Ducky. You can always smell the cat in households where the cat "doesn't smell".

Personally, I have extended the time between washes for my hair. My hair used to be distinctly, noticeably drier and frizzier with many split ends, when I washed it frequently. When I saw my hairdresser recently, which I'd been able to do, due to an incurable chronic illness, chemotherapy,
and various other powerful drugs. He was amazed as I had no split ends and in really excellent condition.
I know my hair doesn't smell; my husband doesn't hold back with any criticism. I don't smoke and I don't have pets, either. I spend very little on clothing. I tend to wear things until they wear out. If the clothing is repairable, that's what I do.
Personally, I wonder if we wash our hair too often, as a population?! I wash my hair with
only one squirt from my shampoo & conditioner. I really make sure my hair is well and truly lathered, all over and leave the conditioner in for as long as possible.
When I worked in a school I used to get really paranoid and check my hair with a nit comb. I never had nits; 🐜it was due to an allergy to whichever bargain shampoo/conditioner I was using at that particular point🙄.
Now that I've found one, that doesn't drive me totally bonkers; scratching my head like a demented lunatic! It's the only one I'll now use. It isn't cheap; £100 for a litre of both, but they last very close to 18 months. This is my only vice; I don't smoke, drink, rarely go out with friends, absolutely nothing. The shampoo and conditioner are in one litre bottles and I use one pump from each, per wash. A very goes a very long way.
I'd probably spend close to that if I used a cheaper shampoo, but I'd have the constant irritation, too. I have had anaphylactic shock in the past too, so I don't want to risk yet another.
Personally, I prefer to put my comfort first before making my scalp so irritated that I look like a demented lunatic scratching my head every couple of minutes.
I know that years ago on television there was a woman who was challenged to not wash her hair for a month. she came back a month later and her hair looked amazing. It was only years later that she admitted that it got so skanky and gross, that she washed it midway through the experiment!
But to never wash your hair? Uuugghhh, gross! Doesn't bear thinking about... 😝
Life's too short.

Oh, and I do use deodorant, brush my teeth at least twice a day and use copious amounts of wet wipes on all potentially smelly bits if I'm feeling too unwell to have a shower btw! 😉😊

My dog stinks, but my cat has a lovely cosy smell that I stuff my nose into his fur for rather regularly Grin

Although I also describe DP as smelling 'cosy' when I have my head next to him armpit in bed, so my sense of smell may be slightly off.

I do know that dirty hair smells the same as GinDog does when he's just come in from the rain...
