They were trumps in our house but now that has been sullied due to Donald.

What can we call them?

OP posts:
ChocolateBudgeCake · 07/11/2016 19:54

Farty pops!

They were blow offs when I was a child.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 07/11/2016 20:18

Why do some people have a problem with the word fart? Presumably they use the words dart, cart, part etc. quite happily?

Topseyt · 07/11/2016 20:32

All pizzas, good question.

Fart is just a good old English word.

LadyFannyOfOmaha · 07/11/2016 20:38

Legotits it was Ivor Biggun, I've Farted!
I've farted, I've farted
I've made a trouser cough
I've whistled in me Y-fronts
I've just peeled one I've
I've blown my bloody brains out
I've been eating peas
I've broken wind
I've dropped my guts
Open the window please!

DS used to love this CD in the car Grin

ShatnersBassoon · 07/11/2016 20:40

We guff or fart.

I got tutted at for saying fart to my niece Grin. Some people are weird about innocuous words.

CoraPirbright · 07/11/2016 20:46

Mainly Farts

But also
Guff
Trump (if US select the Donald as POTUS then they will have had a massive, collective brain fart!)
SBDs (Silent But Deadly)

But my own personal favourite is calling someone who has dropped one "Chuckle Buttocks". Grin

DIYandEatCake · 07/11/2016 20:53

Trumps here too. Every time the kids hear the name 'Donald Trump' on the radio in the car they laugh like it's the funniest thing they've ever heard. Quite appropriate really...

allowlsthinkalot · 07/11/2016 20:55

Trumps or parps for children.

Farts for adults.

Reindeerlily · 07/11/2016 20:56

"There's a mouse in here!"

Oblomov16 · 07/11/2016 20:59

Farts

Sedona123 · 07/11/2016 21:34

A fart is a toot in our house. This was fine until DS had a huge Thomas The Tank Engine phase. Loads of "toot, toot" in the books 😳. I used to be like this 😂 trying to read them!

GlomOfNit · 07/11/2016 21:59

They are farts.

DS1 thinks it's funny to call them Donald Trumps but we've never, ever called farts trumps. I call a fart a fart.

His head once beckoned me over at hometime to tell me that DS1 had merrily said something like 'sorry, if anyone was wondering who it was who farted, it was ME!' and that he, the Head, was concerned that DS1 might get teased about his choice of language. He then paused, and said 'actually, there's nothing wrong with it, is there?'

I am taking this as licence to say Fart in school. Grin

lionsleepstonight · 07/11/2016 22:03

Toots and Pumps!

PuppetInParadize · 07/11/2016 22:06

Wee call them farts. MIL called them pumps. My mum said wind. ds1 called them party farts when he was about 3 or 4. Grin In fact my mum differentiated between 'downwards wind' and 'upwards wind'. I think this was only after she was a GM - she was trying to teach the GSs manners. She failed totally.Grin

liz70 · 07/11/2016 22:06

DD3 does "bottom blasts".

Cupcakesarah · 07/11/2016 22:09

bottie burps

MuggleWuggle · 07/11/2016 22:12

Farts

ohdearme1958 · 07/11/2016 22:13

Since I became a grandma about 11 years ago I now refer to 'boombooms'.

My son who's severely autistic and 25 years old calls them pumpydumpys. It's one of the very few words he knows. He's nothing but profound

ohdearme1958 · 07/11/2016 22:15

Is 'pumps' a Scottish term?

I certainly grew up using it.

Domino20 · 07/11/2016 22:20

My mum says 'de winded', can't bear it, it sounds so much worse than fart?!

Sasuke · 07/11/2016 22:25

Fart and the perpetrator is called fartex

Slackalice42 · 07/11/2016 22:26

My grandmother always used to say, 'Who trod on a frog?' Still makes me chuckle

ProudAS · 07/11/2016 22:36

When I was little I thought they were poos that popped (like balloons) - still think that now.

Shakirasma · 07/11/2016 22:36

Still trumps in our house, which causes DS to howl with laughter every time Donald trump is mentioned on the news. Quite appropriate really.

VulvaInLaw · 07/11/2016 22:38

Pumps
