"Hacked off"

"Tear him a new one"

I've never heard one person in real life use either of those and to be honest, I'm glad! They're the ugliest phrases ever!

Tear him a new one is particularly disgusting.

AIBU to ask you to share yours? Either things you don't hear in real life or things you hate but only encounter here?

'Head tilt'

DonaldStott · 06/11/2016 15:05

'Friendship group' really annoys me. I have never heard anyone in real likefe refer to their 'friendship group'. It just makes me think oh grow up.

"I will out myself with this"
"This too shall pass"
"LTB"

Sugarlightly · 06/11/2016 15:09

Haven't heard the phrase too often, but keep occasionally seeing "poo crumbs" on some threads, makes me feel sick every time.

cheeseoverchocolate · 06/11/2016 15:09

Well I'd heard them but they annoy me!

TaterTots · 06/11/2016 15:10

People using 'cringe' as an adjective Angry

pandarific · 06/11/2016 15:10

'I buy my clothes at boden'

I don't know ANYONE who buys clothes there.

morningtoncrescent62 · 06/11/2016 15:13

anything with judgeypants in it, but especially to hoick one's judgeypants

ViolettaValery · 06/11/2016 15:13

"Cop on to yourself" but I like it, I have adopted it. It sounds North Western, is it?

pandarific · 06/11/2016 15:14

Oh and 'Monsoon is great for women in their 30s'. Slightly TAAT that one, but- really??

HappinessFeelsLikeThis · 06/11/2016 15:15

I dont think I know what a tinkly laugh sounds like and I've never seen a head tilt.

I'd never heard "entitled" before coming on here but I do think it's a great way of describing certain behaviours.

perditalost · 06/11/2016 15:15

You need a spa day

Why? that is the answer to everything

pandarific · 06/11/2016 15:15

ViolettaValery that's Irish scorn at its best. Smile I've heard it many times, never fails to wither the receiver somewhat.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 06/11/2016 15:16

Bunfight and hacked off are normal everyday expressions to me, I use vile and odd too. The MN ones I hate the most are:

Boils my piss
Rip them a new one
Stabby
Fuck off to the far etc. Just "fuck off" will do.

Olympiathequeen · 06/11/2016 15:16

'Go NC!'

Cocklodger

LTB (100 times a day)

Lighthearted

SausageSoda · 06/11/2016 15:16

Violetta slightly different but 'cop yourself on' is a common phrase where I live - Ireland.

PotatoCakeMixes · 06/11/2016 15:17

Entitled, toxic, menial
The use of cringe as an adjective. Stop it ffs, it makes you sound like a twat.

Trills · 06/11/2016 15:21

This is why I love MN. I hear words and phrases and opinions and thoughts that I don't hear in real life.

I don't imagine that they exist only on MN, because I'm not a closed-minded moron with no imagination.

I know that they exist on other people's RLs, just not in mine, because the circle of people I interact with in RL is much smaller than the people I interact with online.

toothgenie · 06/11/2016 15:22

'Gotten'

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/11/2016 15:22

All of these are pretty standard, I've certainly heard them used in RL with the exception of cockwomble etc.

RosaRosaRose · 06/11/2016 15:28

Boils my piss
Rips my knitting

Tarttlet · 06/11/2016 15:30

BratFarrarsPony · 06/11/2016 15:33

" Cop on to yourself "
