To kick up a fuss tomorrow in reception?

At a park dean/hoseasons resort in Scotland, been to a couple of others before, never had any problems but first time to this particular one. First night In a static caravan and all of us have just been woken by at least 6 men screaming, shouting and swearing in the last half an hour in the caravan right next to us and they're still going. I didn't think places like this allowed single sex groups? It's actually terrifying, I've rang night security, but no answer and have left a message. It's horrible the kids have all been woken up and are scared.

I can't believe someone would put that large a group of men in amongst families.

I'm going straight to reception to speak to them in the morning, can we ask to be moved? There's no way I can stay in this caravan another night with all of them a few feet away and for night security not to even answer is massively poor.

Our heating is broken and they said they would send someone to fix it and no- ones turned up and it's 4 degrees. I've never complained before on any holiday but I'd actually rather be at home.
Aibu to kick up a fuss tomorrow morning? Or what should I say to them?

Is there any way you can make a recording of the noise to show them? Sounds awful

Don't kick off, it's not the receptionist fault.

However be firm and polite it may get you somewhere

Perhaps you could film the men and show reception tomorrow. I dont think ur unreasonable to ask to be moved at all.

eve definitely don't want to shout at reception girls I think I'll probably cry, it's horrible. I almost came up alone with my dc's but I invited xh along fairly last min and I am so glad I did I don't think I could have stayed here alone with them. They sound as though they're about to fall in our van, spitting and effing and blinding, I'm usually pretty good at confronting people but no way are either of us confronting 6 drunk lairy men with our kids here.

Keep ringing security. It's not good enough that they're not answering.

And yes, definitely ask to move if it continues.

As for an all male group in amongst families, it's probably a private caravan so reception would have no control over who rents it.

However, that doesn't mean they don't have control over the anti social behaviour.

I think you're being unreasonable to blame it on it being 'a group of men'. If the party staying next to you are causing problems, complain - but don't make it a gender issue.

Tater to be fair to the OP, she does also say "I didn't think places like this allowed single sex groups?"

IME they don't, but if it's a private rental they don't get a say.

How on earth is it a gender issue, saying it's a group of men causing probs when it actually is a group of men causing probs is just stating the facts surely.

If the same group are still in the van next door tomorrow then I would definitely ask to be moved. Though they may be asked to leave. Hopefully night security have calmed things down now but if they don't or if it happens again I would probably just call the police.

And the op hasn't made it a gender issue. If they are men then they are men. Simple.

Because she said 'Why put a group of men so near families?' As if men are somehow intrinsically offensive to anyone with kids.

Security just knocked on our door and told us that two of the men have been escorted from the park they've left in their van. It's apparently a works do??? They said the rest of the men in the van seem fine but 2 were very drunk and aggressive.
I'm pleased they acted as they did but wished they could have rang and told us that now the men will know it was us who rang. There's no way I can sleep now incase they come back.

tater either a single sex group of men and women being that loud would have been awful but I would have been nowhere near as scared of a group of women that I am those men especially as they sounded so aggressive. I didn't mean to say all groups of men are bad near families its just I know a lot of campsites won't allow single sex groups of either men and women.

You must be right though worra that it's a private caravan I never thought of that option.

I suppose Tater kind of has a point but that's only because I was in a caravan at Clacton on Sea one year and a group of women (hen party) actually ended up fighting, trashing their caravan and stabbing a woman in their party.

That was pretty terrifying too, especially as my kids were all under the age of 10 at the time.

But I get what you mean that they don't normally allow single sex parties unless the rental is private.

The OP mentioned that a group of same sex people are usually not allowed at family parks - which they are not. Regardless of whether it is a group of men or a group of women. Family parks usually only accept family bookings.

Single sex groups are allowed to go on holiday you know and for all you know one of them could own the caravan that they are staying in but that doesn't excuse their behaviour am glad security has sorted them out for you.

The point is the problem wasn't caused by the gender of those involved - it was by those involved behaving like twats. I'm not disputing that the OP did the right thing by complaining about the bad behaviour.
