The Duke of York wants his daughters to be full time Royals?

www.express.co.uk/news/royal/724136/prince-andrew-requests-princesses-beatrice-eugenie-kensington-prince-charles-queen-william

This is a Sunday Express link, not a Fail one.

So Andrew wants both of his daughters to have full time royal roles funded by the public & have larger apartments at Kensington Palace. Given that the only time I ever see them in the news is for dreadful outfits & holidays, to me they are embarrassing & a bit cringy.

Andrew is complaining that they are overshadowed by William, Catherine & Harry. But if you believe & support a system of privilege by birth such as the monarchy, then it stands to reason that the direct heirs are more important than the rest.

Does Andrew have a point & IABU?!

Prince Tassimo? Personally I prefer Camp coffee, but Prince Camp's already taken by Edward innit?

VenusRising · 03/11/2016 02:22

Yes, the queen mum was a bastard daughter of the French cook.
The real queen mum if you know what I mean was brain damaged during birth, and they swapped the child for the girl born to the cook.

The real daughter was brought up in Ireland, and died in a nursing home in county Wexford.

The child who grew up to be the queen mother was her father's daughter, so all above board regarding genetics of the father.
Her mother's daughter (half sister and legitimate heir) was squirrelled away and brought up in Ireland cared for by an Irish maid.

Any one else think that Catherine and harry might have an affair? They seem to crack along better than wet William does. Their body language is very interesting and natural, unlike William and Catherine's which seems very cardboard cutout, stiff, like a catalogue.

BillSykesDog · 03/11/2016 02:29

That's a load of rubbish. She was the second youngest of eight, not the heir, and they would have had no reason to pretend like that.

Didn't that come from one of Lady Colin Campbell's books? She's just a nutter who makes stuff up. She said Diana slept with her brother too.

BillSykesDog · 03/11/2016 02:30

You're right about William and Kate though. But he's such a passionless wet fish I couldn't imagine him sleeping wish anyone.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 03/11/2016 02:47

Fucking hell Venus do you believe everything you see written down?

That is 24 carrat bullshit.

BillSykesDog · 03/11/2016 06:51

Dylan, Lady Colin Campbell is a fucking evil bitch - she actually puts this stuff in her books. She can say it about QM because you can't libel the dead, but she also wrote a fucking appalling book about Diana. She was on the money about the marriage breaking down but the rest of it was just a tissue of the worst sort of lies. But she got away with it because she used euphemisms rather than directly saying it.

Greedy, grabby nasty woman making up the most evil things for money.

BillSykesDog · 03/11/2016 06:52

And some people believe it!

QueenoftheAndals · 03/11/2016 06:54

Any one else think that Catherine and harry might have an affair?

Well his new girlfriend does bear a resemblance towards Kate and Pippa...Wink

I doubt it of course, but he seems far livelier and more fun than William. Better in bed too, I'll wager!

derxa · 03/11/2016 07:40

Being a racist bigot in the 40s, 50s, 60s 70s was pretty much everyone though Oh FFS

BigGreenOlives · 03/11/2016 07:49

Harry has far less pressure on him than William, it's not surprising he looks more relaxed. Imagine knowing your whole life that you are going to be your nation's figurehead & your every action subject to media scrutiny. He could abdicate once Charles dies but I don't think he can at this stage as he is only in line to the throne.

diddl · 03/11/2016 08:13

"Any one else think that Catherine and harry might have an affair?"

God no!

I'm sure that she's got more sense & that he cares enough about his brother for it not to happen!

SeaRabbit · 03/11/2016 08:17

My uncle used to work at Salford University when Phil was Chancellor, so he visited regularly and uncle worked in the catering section so saw him close-hand. He witnessed the following:

There was a Royalist person waited for him outside, all dressed up in Union Jack clothes, and Phil went over and told him he looked like an idiot. The poor Royalist was understandably upset and told Phil he was very rude.

Phil didn't like this one bit, and sulked through the formal dinner, and then was very rude to uncle when he offered him a brandy, and stormed off.

raisedbyguineapigs · 03/11/2016 10:01

Phil sounds like the Katie Hokins of the RF! Just telling it like it is, no matter how rude or offensive he is.

I think Kate and Wills are well matched. He's dull as ditchwater, but she's hardly the life and soul of the party. She's like a Stepford wife!

VenusRising · 03/11/2016 19:53

LikeDylann, that's just it, I didn't read it, I heard it from a nurse working in the nursing home- she told my aunty who lived there in Ireland.

She was her fathers child right enough, not her mother's daughter though. The "real" girl was born brain damaged and swapped with the cook's bastard.

Couldn't give a rat's ass about whether it's true or not, but interested to see how bristly some are about it. She's just a half sister of her siblings. That's all. It doesn't make her less of a person, or any less commendable for her life of service, etc.

Id say the odds are high that Catherine will have an affair sometime. I'd take a bet on it.
Who wouldn't when all the heirs are born? I think she's hiding her smarts pretty well and bored as a plank.
And yes, at the moment they are very well matched, she's Stepford, and particular, he's drippy, not too bright about the big picture, his place in the world, and quite fussy. I do hope he gets over his fireman Sam, tissues under the door complex soon. I think he has the white mans' burden pretty bad too with regard to the 'big game'.

I do like prince charles. He had balls not to meet the Chinese delegation. I respect his stance on their invasion of Tibet, contrary and hypocritical as it is when you think about what his antecedents did in Ireland.
He does seem to be getting wiser with age. Maybe there's hope for William yet.

BoffinMum · 03/11/2016 20:17

Let them be full time royals but in the minimum wage. Living in B and B accommodation until they get sorted.

Julia2016 · 03/11/2016 21:07

I wonder will Harry's new lady be accepted if he wanted to marry her. I guess given she's divorced shouldn't matter given camilla.

Does he need to ask granny for permission?

PetalMettle · 03/11/2016 21:44

Why is everyone convinced Catherine will play away? I wouldn't imagine it would even be that easy to do!

raisedbyguineapigs · 03/11/2016 22:46

I think people are expecting her personality to kick in at some point! I dont actually think either of them will have affairs but I dont know what they are like behind closed doors!

savedbythebell · 03/11/2016 23:02

I think its time granny paid bedroom tax. All those empty bedrooms. Meanwhile more and more people living in poverty and homeless.

Peregrina · 03/11/2016 23:57

Time granny moved out into a smaller property, - a nice little two bed bungalow, and then turned Buck House into social housing flats.

savedbythebell · 04/11/2016 00:05

It's not as if it's just the one. I mean how many bloody palaces does she need.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 04/11/2016 00:39

LikeDylann, that's just it, I didn't read it, I heard it from a nurse working in the nursing home- she told my aunty who lived there in Ireland

And the pub bore told me that he was in the SAS and another sad old drunk told me he was on Aston Villa's books and would have been a professional footballer but for a knee injury and I've lost count of the number of people who claimed to be in an early line up of Black Sabbath. In fact I'm a Nigerian prince who needs to get a £1m pounds out of the country and I just need your bank account details to facilitate the transfer.

People lie to make themselves look important or in the know or pass on baseless rumours as if they were fact.

Couldn't give a rat's ass about whether it's true or not, but interested to see how bristly some are about it.

So why repeat it then? Your post annoyed me because you didn't engage your critical faculties and work out the course of events you suggested was utterly unlikely and there was no credible evidence.

She was the eighth child and not the heirless to the title and if they couldn't cope with the 'shame' of having a daughter with a birth defect, they could have quietly shielded her from view or packed her off to an institution as the Queen Mother's sister in law did when her children were born with learning difficulties.

The whole charade with a cook with whom her father was having an affair and happened to get pregnant at exactly the same time as his wife and who had thus given birth at almost exactly the same time and was able to do a quick switcheroo when it was discovered his wife's child was brain damaged is so too fetched to be believed. If you'd engaged your noggin for a second you could have worked this out.

The other inconvenient thing is that the Queen Mother bears a very close resemblance to her mother. So not only would a baby have to be on hand, it would have to strongly resemble his wife, rather than its own mother. See the picture of the Queen Mother's mother below.

Id say the odds are high that Catherine will have an affair sometime. I'd take a bet on it. Who wouldn't when all the heirs are born?

You seem weirdly and creepily fixated by this.

Well consider this far fetched possibility ... she could actually be in love with her husband. Neither of them do a great deal for me in either the personality or attraction front, but perhaps they y'know love each other and are compatible. There's plenty of friends where I think 'don't fancy yours much' about their partners but they seem blissfully happy with one another.

Also, I'm sure there's people on this thread who've finished with childbirth but aren't leaping into bed with all and sundry, especially not their brother in law.

Here she is the Queen mother mother!

Whatever LikeDylann, it's not terribly interesting to me how much you love the woman who was the queen mum. As I say, her genetic identity doesn't take away her right to be remembered as someone who worked hard.
Go ahead and knock yourself out by all means with photos and eulogies. It seems to be a bit of a fixation of yours, but, so what?

I know what I know from personal correspondence, I'm truly sorry you don't have interesting connections. Brew

This whole thread is about fixations of one kind or another- this is a thread about the British royal family after all, and we are discussing whether they need two more fragrant dangleberries.

To single me out as the sole owner of an unengaged noggin on this thread is very shortsighted of you. Pots, kettles and all that Wink

Now, please don't let me distract you from your Cookie Fan Club! Biscuit
Get busy on uploading even more of those grainy images: and don't forget Dame Edna, or Pricilla, Queen of the desert. Damn fine fillies, royals all. Star Halo

I do hope he gets over his fireman Sam, tissues under the door complex soon. I think he has the white mans' burden pretty bad too with regard to the 'big game

I have absolutely NO idea of what any of this means. None.

If anyone cares to tell me what a fireman Sam, tissues under the door complex is I'd be grateful, it sounds intriguing!! Also not entire sure what the white mans burden in regard to big game means (probably not to do with lions and tiger?).

Other than that I couldn't give a jot about the royal family, their existence has always seemed almost fictional to me. Though I can't deny I find the queen mother switched at birth story brilliant. It's fabulous - entertaining like a Catherine Cookson book.
