The Duke of York wants his daughters to be full time Royals?

www.express.co.uk/news/royal/724136/prince-andrew-requests-princesses-beatrice-eugenie-kensington-prince-charles-queen-william

This is a Sunday Express link, not a Fail one.

So Andrew wants both of his daughters to have full time royal roles funded by the public & have larger apartments at Kensington Palace. Given that the only time I ever see them in the news is for dreadful outfits & holidays, to me they are embarrassing & a bit cringy.

Andrew is complaining that they are overshadowed by William, Catherine & Harry. But if you believe & support a system of privilege by birth such as the monarchy, then it stands to reason that the direct heirs are more important than the rest.

Does Andrew have a point & IABU?!

Another rumoured potential father of Edward was Lord Canarvon, who was a one time potential husband for the young princess.

They were great friends and he served as her horse racing manager/advisor for many years. His family own Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey was filmed.

CaveMum · 28/10/2016 14:06

Sorry, he was EARL Carnarvon but Lord Porchester when he was younger. Apparently she called him Porchie.

Dontpanicpyke · 28/10/2016 14:12

I think it's a bit nasty for women to be posting musings on whether other women have lied about the father of their children!

No woman should be talked about like this on an Internet forum be they one of us on here or a royal.

The queen would never have allowed herself to become pregnant with another man's child and actually continue the pregnancy. She wouldn't risk the scandal. If she did discreetly get porked by Porchie good for her. What is good for the goose and all that.

VanillaSugarandChipSpice · 28/10/2016 15:47

Does anyone remember when Prince Andrew got wrestled to the ground and arrested inside the grounds of Buckingham Palace?

He'd gone for a walk and no one recognized him so they thought he was an intruder. He did the classic "Don't you know who I am?" and when they said "No", he replied "I am the Monarch's Second Son!"

I think the security guys got the sack, poor soda.

EverySongbirdSays · 28/10/2016 15:54

That Andrew story is fairly recent isn't it?

BUT VANILLA, WHAT ABOUT REV?

What did he have against Rev? Grin

Harry looks much more like Charles now than he did 20 years ago, it's the mouth.

I'm not surprised that News International would attempt to do sly DNA - scumbags.

Apparantly Charles had to have a long talk with him about the Hewitt rumour at quite a young age, which is sad.

EverySongbirdSays · 28/10/2016 15:58

Sorry, just saw your reply Blush

What was The Ambassadors?

How did he get it axed?

Does one just ring the DG and go Prince here, no more of that, what, what?

That Harry/Philip photo is astonishing. Clone.

Pity we can't sack Andrew, that's the trouble with royals, we're just stuck with them.

diddl · 28/10/2016 16:27

"He did the classic "Don't you know who I am?" "

Do you think that they did really?Grin

raisedbyguineapigs · 28/10/2016 16:36

billsykesdog I agree with you re Andrew and Edward not being Philips. She clearly adores him, for all his faults. If anyone played away, it would have been him, I would have thought. That and she seems far too goody two shoes to have had two children that weren't her husband's!

raisedbyguineapigs · 28/10/2016 16:45

Yes hope The Queen has done a good job, and I actually think Charlie will really try to do his best, but Andrew for a long time was a hunting accident away from being heir to the throne. No one would have said anything when he was a war hero, and then we would have been stuck with a self serving lying idiot as King, and there is nothing we could have done about it ( except revolution, which isn't really in our nature!) I hope Charles has instilled in William and Kate that they are in no way guaranteed their position and that they will have to spend the rest of their lives justifying their reason for being. They are an anachronism and there are many other better systems of government. The regard people have for the RF will most likely die with the Queen and Phil.

He did, repeatedly, mostly with titled women who kept their gobs shut. He has a shag pad on the Sandringham estate tis known.

mummytime · 28/10/2016 17:33

The Ambassadors wasn't that great, but I did wonder how they'd got "Prince David" through - although they did make him ultimately seem like a valuable person (but I could believe Andrew was too "intellectually limited" to realise that).

How very disappointing for him.

The Queen's close friend who is alleged to be Andrew's biological father looks a lot like him. I remember seeing a photograph of him ages ago. I think his title was Lord Caernarfon but I can't recall. As long as the heir Charles is "legitimate" it scarcely matters anyway. The Q and PP seem happy enough.

Blackpoollassy · 29/10/2016 13:57

No definitely Lord Porchester for Andrew. the one you mention, PP, is for Edward

Blackpoollassy · 29/10/2016 14:00

Edward's alleged father was a friend who was to do with her horses. I used to know all this but have forgotten now. There's also something to do with the government meeting when Andrew was born but the conversations being held as state secret for much longer than normal e.g 100 years.

Blackpoollassy · 29/10/2016 14:06

Oops no. Porchy and Caenarvon are one and the same, apologies pp.
Can't remember Edward's alleged padre now but sure someone's already mentioned it below.
Right I'll stop waffling now

Blackpoollassy · 29/10/2016 14:11

Edward = Baron Patrick Plunket

Right I'll shut up now

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 29/10/2016 15:06

Edward = Baron Patrick Plunket

Hmm .... Patrick Plunkett was a lifelong bachelor and not prone to womanising if you get my drift.

VanillaSugarandPumpkinSpice · 29/10/2016 20:05

Well, I've just googled the 7th Earl I Canaervan and he looks nothing like Prince Andrew #disappointed Sad
